About the adventure

Set on an outer plane the world of Mysteria once held great powers. Hulking Titians, massive dragons, deities and powerful arcane entities whom battled for control of the realm. Until 150 years ago when God King Lerwick crushed the Kingdoms of the dwarves, elves, and dragonborn. Slaying their leaders and putting their people into exile he has made humanity the dominant race. After he finished them he started on the humans. Replacing their gods with himself he outlawed not only other religions but the practice of magic by any not apart of his Grand Inquisition. Now Mysteria is a shadow of it's former self but the winds are changing after being bottled up and repressed for so long the residents of this world are stirring and with them magic itself is returning to the world. Wild and uncontrollable magic is ravaging the landscape elementals and magical beast seem to pop into existence and new sorcerers seem to be awakening everyday with nothing but a fleeting dream explaining why they now have these amazing and "illegal" powers. In the sleepy town of Ryder our adventure begins as magic is stirring the very air electric.

About me

I have been an avid tabletop game player for the last 17 years and started DMing a year later as games were much harder to find and not available for online play. I bring a large amount of roleplaying experience and sourcebooks as well as flexibility to my tables. I prefer to run open-world adventures that gain story from the players in it and not railroad them into one specific path. Sure the wicked witch may be destroying Whoville but the party is starting an orphanage and that is just fine. Every table and every group is different and playing in them should be as well. My preferred areas to play are D&D Beyond for 5e and Roll20 for all others. I create a discord per game to allow for player notes discussions and Lore.

Character creation

Creating your character

All characters will be created on D&D Beyond I have all of the player source books available and shared for free. Characters would be preferred to be ready before zero session but time is there to adjust for edits and such. I will be speaking to each player before the zero session around the time they get the discord link for the game.

Safety

How Derek creates a safe table

Low magic/fantasy within realism setting. I will have a link to all of my safety documents that I am using in the discord available to all players 7 days before the zero session. In which we will talk about how to address each other in and out of character, go over character concepts, and any safety tool questions, and have a short adventure of going to the city to start the campaign so everyone can get an idea if they're character will fit with the rest of the party or if they may need to change as not to create animosity between before the campaign even begins. The X,N, and Os will be PM'd to me in Discord to not call anyone out at any time during the game sessions. Combat and roleplay amounts can be adjusted based on stars and wishes of party.
