About the adventure
Somewhere, lost in the shrouded realms of death, lies a land of endless night where long-forgotten horrors are revealed to those who travel through the mist. All abord the Ghostlight Express, and welcome to the shrouded realm of Druskenvald. You are about to embark upon a journey into the unknown, where uncanny folk with strange superstitions revere the Old Ways, and creatures of folklore lurk on the isolated fringes of civilization. Now is the time to brave the dark wood, beware the witching hour, and weave your own dreadful folktale underneath the Crooked Moon. This folk horror campaign will take characters from levels 1-13. Fans of Legends of Avantris and new players alike are welcome, as long as you're willing a chill up your spine!

About me
Hey y'all! I'm excited to GM amazing adventures with you! I've been loving RPGs ever since I was in high school, and I've been more active than ever in my D&D. Like many others, I'm a huge Critter. I'm also passionate about other RPG systems like Vampire: The Masquerade and Avtar Legends What you need to know about my games is that I always try to make sure my characters are having fun and to make sure that they are comfortable. I populate my games with diverse NPCs and love worldbuilding fantastic settings for everyone to play in. I also make sure to make sure my players have a healthy challenge. Other hobbies I have include hiking, traveling, creating RPG art, and listening to music. Bidet, friends!

Creating your character
Characters will be created in a session 0, with either standard array or point buy for ability scores. Either basic equipment or starting gold will be used. During the session 0, players should make characters whose goals align with each other and fit in a folk horror setting. Characters will be created on D&D Beyond. All material from official D&D sourcebooks is allowed (except Silvery Barbs). In addition, feel free to play one of the new races, subclasses, or backgrounds from the Crooked Moon.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a D&D Beyond, Roll20, and Discord Account. Internet and a working microphone will also be required.
What Deryn brings to the table
I love to utilize ambient music to make this horror setting come to life, and well as some character voices
Homebrew rules
Drinking a healing potion for yourself is a bonus action, while giving to another person is a full action. Any time a healing potion is a full action, that creature receives the full amount of healing. The Crooked Moon also includes fun chaotic curses that may occur at unexpected moments. For a short time real-world, your head may be replaced by a jack-o-lantern, believe you are a vampire (you are not), have you feet and hands swap places, and more!

Safety
How Deryn creates a safe table
The Crooked Moon contains elements of graphic and gory violence, depictions of mental health issues, cultural and religious conflict, endangerment of children and animals, grotesque body horror, family trauma, allusions to suicide, and more. To ensure player comfort at the table, I will send a Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist and always have X, N, and O cards at the ready. During the session, a 10-15 minute break will be provided for bio breaks and processing content. After each session, players can provide Stars and Wishes for constructive feedback.
