About the adventure

The bombs dropped. The Faewild cracked open. Now magic leaks into a poisoned world and the Fae are furious. They’re here to reclaim what’s theirs—or wreck what’s left. Corporations dump nuclear waste into portals. Fae courts scheme behind glamoured smiles. Mortals mutate in the shadows. The world ended twice. You survived. What you do next is entirely up to you. WHAT IS THIS GAME? This is a Dungeons & Dragons 5E, reframed for a world where mutant horror meets urban fairy tale. Think Fallout meets Pan’s Labyrinth with a healthy splash of Annihilation. You’ll co-create this broken world through narrative prompts defining settlements, factions, and the strange bonds between Fae and mortal survivors. Expect a campaign of: ☢️ Mutations, corruption, and dangerous magic 🎭 Fae bargains, betrayals, and surreal urban decay 🏚️ Scavenger horror, apocalyptic survival, and backroom politics 🩸 Found family, resistance, and very bad decisions with very cool consequences WHAT SETS THIS GAME APART? Collaborative Worldbuilding: Your answers shape the world. Your history becomes the plot. Unique Setting: A collision of post-apocalyptic ruin, queer rebellion, and Fae strangeness. Narrative-First 5E: Roleplay drives the story. Combat is rare, brutal, and deeply personal. Queer-Coded Chaos: Be fae. Do crimes. Live deliciously. IS THIS FOR YOU? ✅ You love collaborative storytelling. ✅ You want a world where queer rage meets Fae vengeance. ✅ You enjoy weird magic, body horror, and moral gray zones. ✅ You value immersive RP over tactical play. IS THIS NOT FOR YOU? 🚫 You want standard fantasy tropes untouched. 🚫 You’re looking for heroic power fantasy. 🚫 You dislike grim, weird, or unsettling tones. GAME DETAILS: System: D&D 5E, homebrewed for post-apocalyptic Fae corruption Tone: Grimdark, Weird, Queer Rebellion, Survival Horror Safety Tools: X-Card, Open Door, Lines & Veils, Regular Check-Ins Session Zero: Fully collaborative world and character creation Platform: Talespire, Discord, D&D Beyond “The Fae are mad. The corporations are worse. The world’s on fire. How bout yours?”

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters in session 0. It helps to work together to build a theme or group "vibe". It can be a bit of a bummer if everyone is not on the same page. If everyone is looking for a peaceful romp in the Fae, it can get stressful when one player wants to kill everything.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a D&D Beyond account, A discord account (both free), and a copy of Talespire (I can stream it via Discord if you don't have it, or you can use the free version). All games will be built out in Talespire beforehand. We will be working together to build character with the group.

How Billdow00 creates a safe table

[CONTENT WARNING: This game may contain giant talking spiders, body horror, psychological horror, and distressing emotional situations.] Not everything will be as it seems. There will be creepy things such as Hags, Candy folk, Trolls, Tree/Plant folk, Tons of talking animals, and everyone trying to trick you. E.g., "I give you my word!" and you are found lying, you lose the ability to speak. Handling a conversation poorly with a group of Fae will have just as many consequences as killing a bunch of creatures. The "Law of the land" will play a big part of how you treat your surroundings. You don't want to cut down living trees or hunt a talking deer. RULES OF THE WILD • Never eat food that Fae gives you. (only ever forage for yourself) Eating their food will do two things. First, assuming that you’re in the land of the Fae, eating their food can force you to stay there. Second, eating their food can make you no longer hungry for human food. Which means that you will both starve and not want to eat chocolate. I’m not sure which one is worse. • Never give them your name. (don't lie tho) Names hold power. If a faerie asks for your name and you say it, you’re giving them power (and possibly complete control) over you. The best thing to do in this situation is to give the faerie a made-up name or your nickname. However, if you know their name and say it, then they may leave you alone. • Never stand in a fairy ring. Fairy rings are the rings of mushrooms that sometimes grow where a tree has died, and they’re also portals to the Faerie realm. So, standing in them is a rather bad idea. Even if you’re not teleported, you could get stuck in the ring, and time moves much slower in there. Centuries could pass outside, while seconds pass inside. And if you are transported to the Faerie realm, you could be treated as their guest, or you could become their prisoner. • Never be rude to a faerie. Being unhospitable and selfish are frowned upon among the Fae. It is critical to meet their standards. Punishments for not doing so range from being pricked with sharp weapons for spying, to being given seven years of bad luck for laziness, to drowning in a bog for being a bully. So. That seems bad. • Never accept a gift from the Fae. Or rather, be very careful with any gift you are given. If you don’t trust the faerie who gave you the gift, it’s best to destroy it. And never, ever say thank you for a gift. It implies that you owe them something, like a cheeseburger, or your firstborn.
