About the adventure

Starting in the cozy region near Cozy Cove, the group will embark on a whimsical and chaotic journey, with multiple story hooks, customized to the hero. The heroes will journey from Cozy Cove to attend the Witchlight Carnival, unveil some mysteries about this magical carnival and those who run and operate it, before heading off into Prismeer, a Feywild domain of delight. This campaign is roleplay heavy and character arc focused, meaning homebrewed characters with unique stories we weave into the fabric of the story, are encouraged. My goal with this campaign is to have players discover and play as much of the rich story content as possible, and weaving in custom elements of their own story, in a true collaborative story telling way. Character story comes first, and we will be using all story hooks from the printed material, with optional hooks from Cozy Cove. Like all of my cozy games, I will add the disclaimer - Murder Hobos are perfectly fine, but there isn't a place for them in this game. There are tons of amazing GMs who will give you an amazing good time for this - let me know if you need help finding them. I've said it once, and will say it again - The table is aggressively Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ positive. The goal for this group is more character and story focused, an emphasis on whimsical, cozy while chaotic, good time through the entirety of the Wild Beyond the Witchlight Campaign - come join me for Cozy Beyond the Witchlight!

About me

Hello! I love D&D (and other assorted TTRPGs) enough to not mind being a forever GM. I believe in the simple fact that this is a game, and we are meant to have fun - my first goal is always ensuring we are all having fun. In the last couple of years I have realized TTRPGs are more fun when I run the games I enjoy, and now, I am glad to say I am open for GMing for strangers (who will soon become friends!) on the internet who enjoy similar game play style and games. For game play style - I believe in collaborative, enjoyable storytelling with compatible personalities. "Rule of Cool" with roleplay and whimsy is my style. I'm autistic, if I don't know a rule, I DO know how to look it up, or get clarification on it, but I also know how to have fun and wing it in a way that makes us all have fun. I am not a great DM for RAW lawyer Murder-Hobos, nor do I pretend to be - but if cozy, whimsical, fun and sometimes chaotic gameplay sounds fun? Then let's play some freaking TTRPGs! Games are played in Discord and Owlbear Rodeo with custom maps and tokens made from character art.

I've played multiple campaigns with Abbi and have enjoyed every moment. One thing I can say without a doubt is she really has a grasp on grabbing your attention and holding onto it in the most fun and quirky ways. She creates expansive worlds that feel fun, familiar and comfortable. They can be explored to find side stories and interesting tidbits that fit into the plot if you choose to take the time to interact with the NPCs. I'm a huge fan of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams and the worlds and stories she comes up with very much feel like it could perfectly fit in with their whimsical shenanigans. Her games are quirky, comfortable and just all-around fun. I would highly recommend jumping into one of her games if you're looking for something fun and entertaining.

Abbi is so great, I didn't know how to play D&D, and now I do. And she made it fun, and the settings and world are amazing. Goofy voices.

I have been playing TTRPGs since 1985. I have seen many great and some not as great DMs. Abbi is one of the great ones. She is genuinely invested in her players enjoying their time. She encourages role playing and supports player creativity. She has developed a deep and imaginative world that normally takes years for DMs to develop.

Abbi is amazing. She builds a complex world and let's her party explore. She encourages us to experiment and doesn't give us grief when we use non-traditional methods to solve a problem. Her NPC'S are complex with interesting backgrounds not just inn keeper or vendor. Everything Abbi touches is magical.

I played DnD for the first time with Abbi as the DM and she was great at guiding a newbie! Explained the rules of the rolls, helped me fix my character sheet where I completely botched everything :), was super patient and had amazing voices and world building!

Character creation
Creating your character

How to roll a character: Points Buy System* – should you need any help with this, please contact me. We will finalize characters during session zero, but I understand wanting to discuss or brainstorm a character prior to that. There is no charge for talking about D&D – this is a game after all – I will do my best to answer as quickly as possible outside of my available hours. * Points buy system: Everything starts at 8 points, and you get 27 points to then distribute and make your scores higher – the points scale with 1 point per level until 13. And then its 2 points per increase, max 15 before racial bonuses. Please see point conversion below for assistance. Score | Cost 8 | 0 9 | 1 10 | 2 11 | 3 12 | 4 13 | 5 14 | 7 15 | 9 If you have any homebrew/special builds you want to use, we can probably find a way to make it work - just remember this is roleplay heavy and character focused, so the character should be built for that purpose, not min/maxing. We will start at level one, possibly two, if players need the level for their builds. (Which means if people need two levels to properly multiclass, everyone will get to have two levels) You should also be thinking about your character - not the stats, but their backstory and their short, mid and long term goals.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

We will play using Owlbear Rodeo and Discord - upon sign up (or when the group is close to full enough to start) a link to my server will be sent out. In this server you will have access to a group chat with the group you will be playing with, and to get you onboarded for the game. Should you wish to play a pre-generated character - just let me know the type of story you want to tell, and what kind of character you want to play (swinging swords, shooting arrows, slinging magic, generally) You should also be thinking about your character - not the stats, but their backstory and their short, mid and long term goals. The longer the better, I will read them – it’s how I weaponize my Autism – I read. Yes, I know I mentioned this twice, I can’t stress enough how passionate I am about character driven collaborative storytelling.

What Abbi-Gm brings to the table

The table is aggressively Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ positive. (I did say I would say this again, didn't I?" In addition to a safe space community on Discord, I maintain a safe table - full safety rules are always on the table, and we are aggressively neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ positive at my tables. II also provide a gaming space for cozy gaming, which is the polar opposite of murder hobo games - if you have ever wished for a game with less murder hobo combat - and more roleplay creative focused encounters, I am the GM for you! In addition to this cozy, safe vibe to play games, I also provide custom maps, tokens in Owlbear Rodeo customized to your preferred character art, and a Rule of Cool vibe. The goal is to have fun, and that is my biggest goal of what to provide to the players. I bring an open mind and a "Sure let's figure out how to make it work" attitude when it comes to player ideas and gameplay. I bring a dice goblin who wants to roll dice, but also enjoy some fun rule of cool type of gameplay. If you don't have dice, don't worry, we have digital dice on Owlbear AND Discord - so digital dice goblins, you are also covered. In addition to all of this, I also have helpful PDFs and guides to aid with new players, character creation, gameplay, and more. And free cat content, my cats often show up during games. The cats are, admittedly, one of the coolest things, so I am finishing strong! Also, if you read THIS far, why not sign up? Session zero is free!

Homebrew rules

House Rules: Rule of Cool will prevail – but you need to roleplay it for me to believe it’s cool. When in doubt, we roll it out. Nat 20 on initiative chooses where they go in the order, after all rolls are revealed. Drinking a potion is a bonus action

How Abbi-Gm creates a safe table

The table is aggressively Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ positive. Prior to our session zero please let me know your name, pronouns, and any boundaries, triggers, lines/veils you may have. My goal is a fun time, and this includes a safe space for us to have fun. Session zero will include safety measure conversations, but I find private conversations ahead of time make it easier than discussing them in front of a group of strangers. I also have a sheet you can simply fill out to make it easier for you – safety and fun is the goal here.
