About the adventure

Want to be a martial arts master fighting off a zombie horde? 👊 How about a trained assassin leaping through the air while shooting two guns akimbo style while doves fly in slow motion past your face? 🕊 Maybe you just want to be a cyborg who travels back in time to stop a terrible future? 🤖 Perhaps you could even be an exorcist who can punch ghosts and banish vampires with paper talismans? 👻 Welcome to the action packed world of FENG SHUI 2! In this game you'll be playing as an action hero based on archetypes from 80s to 90s Hong Kong and Hollywood action films! 🎬 If you're looking for a TTRPG that lets you rearrange furniture for optimal energy flow... this is not that game. In this classic campaign, the game is set in a seemingly normal 1990s Hong Kong when a hit attempt is made on a local philanthropist which somehow evolves into... a Time War and killer apes?! Travel throughout Hong Kong with your friends and see if you can't uncover and stop a terrible plot that could unravel the very fabric of time and space. Literally no preparation required! And no prior knowledge is needed either. It's easy to pick up and learn. I already have the materials, all you need to do is show up.

About me

Hello! I'm Winston. I've been running 5th Edition D&D for over 5 years for Adventurer's League and also my own homebrew 5E game for the past 3 years. I also like playing other systems, some of my favourites being Feng Shui 2; Kids on Bikes and Gamma World, (yes, the old 4th Edition game). As an artist, I like drawing my own characters and I also create my own homebrew content. I'm also the author of 'Gloryanna: The First Volley'.

Character creation

Creating your character

There will be premade archetypes for you to choose from and customize to your liking! Having the book 'Feng Shui 2' is optional but not required! All the information needed and all the character creation will be on Roll20.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A good quality gaming headset or microphone and steady internet! Check your wallets! I like to keep my games high quality but reasonably affordable for the average TTRPG enjoyer. Make sure you can afford groceries and bills! And with some luck... I'll be able to afford those as well. You'll also need to download Discord for communication and have a Roll20 membership for playing the game itself.

What DM Lewinston brings to the table

A fully prepared Roll20 server! This includes helpful handouts, archetype sheets, shot counters, maps and music, (it's a lot of synthwave). I'll also be bringing my experience of running this game and my bad voice acting. Do you need a character portrait? I'll do one for you if you're joining this one-shot. If you prefer to use your own portrait, that's fine as well.

Safety

How DM Lewinston creates a safe table

As an actual Asian GM who will be running this Hong Kong movies inspired TTRPG setting, I can promise to approach accents with a modicum of respect! Speaking of accents, I have this to say: As long as you're not creating an outward stereotype of a marginalized peoples, you're in the clear! Also, on that same topic: If you yourself are uncomfortable being an 'old master' with a long white beard and ancient wushu techniques or perhaps worried you can't do the voice justice... choose another character! Or write a character concept for that character which would make you more comfortable to play them. If you're still having trouble, talk to me and I'll work with you. Additionally, I will also be asking everyone before the game starts what they won't want in the game! Think of this as quick session 0 to determine what I'll be removing from my game. Right off the bat: real world racism, sexism and sexual assault are a no go. Finally, safety cards will be in the game if something has truly gone wrong.
