The Eye of Reaping: A Witherwild Campaign | Learn Daggerheart
Explore the clash and tension of a land caught between ruination and renewal. Will you survive and flourish or succumb to the violent forces?
About the adventure
Fanewick was once a land of untamed beauty, where the rhythm of nature guided life’s ebb and flow. But when the nation of Haven, desperate to cure the violent plague of the Serpent’s Sickness, invaded its sacred wilds and stole the Reaping Eye from Nikta, the Shepherd of Seasons, the balance was shattered. What should have been eternal spring quickly twisted into the Witherwild—a relentless force of unchecked growth that warps beasts into towering nightmares and turns forests into labyrinths of living threats. The land, once dangerous but knowable, is now unrecognizable. It suffocates those who cannot adapt, transforming survival into something far more dire. The Eye of Reaping: A Witherwild Campaign thrusts you into a world on the brink of collapse. This is a tale of reluctant heroes—ordinary people forced to grapple with grief, transformation, and the morality of war. You will rise against nature’s fury, clash with invaders who justified their conquest as salvation, and wrestle with what it truly means to restore harmony. The decisions you make will shape the fate of Fanewick itself, in a campaign where survival is more than endurance—it is the reclamation of identity against an enemy that cannot be fought, only understood. With bold themes of heroism, survival, and the ever-present tension between civilization and the wild, this adventure embodies the distinct storytelling vision found in Daggerheart. Dynamic, thrilling, and eerily beautiful, The Eye of Reaping invites you to explore a land caught between ruination and renewal, where the past lingers in every bloom and the future is anything but certain. Do you have the strength to stand against the wild tide—or will you be swallowed by the verdant abyss? • Bigotry will not be tolerated in or out of game •

About me
I value collaboration in narrative storytelling and place a heavy influence on role play and improvisation. I love building rich worlds with an immersive feel and strive to find connections to PC backstories so that adventures are driven by players interacting with their world.

Creating your character
Characters creation will occur during Session 0. The campaign is designed to begin at level 1 and will scale through Tier 2 play. Any options available in the Core Rulebook will be available for play. Play test content on The Void may also be an option.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please ensure you have access to stable internet connection and a microphone. Discord is my preferred way of organising players together. Players are expected to utilise Demiplane for character creation. Combat may utilise a Roll20 and/or theatre of the mind.
What Sam brings to the table
I have about 5 years of long-form campaign GM experience in 5 and 5.5e D&D. I value Rule of Cool and narrative collaboration and try to find ways to allow the rules to support the story. I encourage creativity and teamwork in roleplay, puzzles, and combat. It is my hope that players find my worlds immersive, compelling, and deeply connected and I strive to find ways to root the narrative in stakes brought to the table by characters. Voice acting is not my forte, but as with anything, I promise to do my best to deliver the best experience possible. I try to present sweeping cinematic scenes and provide quiet intimate moments to create dynamic and engaging gameplay. I invite feedback and constantly seek to improve as a GM, player, and collaborator.
Homebrew rules
By and large, we will be playing Daggerheart RAW as a way to learn the system. However, the system itself is narrative forward and flexible, so we will be taking the "Rulings over Rules" attitude to heart to create a positive play experience for all.

Safety
How Sam creates a safe table
Safety is a key aspect of the TTRPG experience and an a priori issue for me at every table. Safety will be central to the conversation starting in session 0 and continuing throughout play. Lines and veils will be central to establishing the rules of engagement. The Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist will serve as a guide for discussing lines and veils. It is not an exhaustive list, but rather a starting place to kickstart a conversation. Character creation is done together to encourage collaboration and ensure that everyone is in compliance with the target tone and mood of the campaign. Daggerheart even promotes connections between player characters as a core part of the character creation process! During play, everyone is welcome to get up for short periods of time to step away from the action. Breaks will be built into sessions to allow time for everyone to stock up on food and drink, rest and stretch, and use bathroom. This buffer also allows everyone a chance to step back from the action together before diving back into the narrative and reduces bleed. During play, we will utilise the X, N, and O card system to hold each other accountable and check in on player comfort without immediately breaking immersion. We will use messages on Discord or a VTT to communicate these. Safety doesn't end when play ends. After each session we will have a debrief to process and prepare. This will include a chance to go around expressing Stars, or moments/choices that were appreciated, and Wishes- things we hope to see in the future. This allows for a constructive feedback system where everyone feels empowered to grow together throughout the campaign.
