About the adventure
Marauders of Windfall is a 2nd-level adventure designed for players eager to explore the Daggerheart TTRPG system at a slightly more advanced tier (Level 2, Tier 2). Perfect for those who have dipped their toes into the world of Daggerheart and are ready to take flight—literally—this adventure balances high-flying action, character-driven drama, and moral complexity. Whether you're a fan of swashbuckling fantasy, political intrigue, or skyship warfare, Marauders of Windfall offers a vivid, cinematic journey through the skies. Set aboard the RAS Windfall, a cutting-edge sky frigate in the Royal Air Service of King Emeris’ navy, the story begins with the player characters boarding as honored guests—or perhaps mercenaries, scholars, or stowaways. The Windfall is the pride of the fleet, powered by the revolutionary “Silver Engine,” a magical propulsion system designed by the enigmatic artificer Mellandra Silver. But not everything is as pristine as it seems. When the skyship is attacked by wyverns mid-journey, the characters leap into action to defend themselves and their fellow passengers. This act of heroism earns them an invitation to dine with the ship’s elite, offering a taste of high society and insight into the vessel's mysterious inner workings. Marauders of Windfall is a game for players who love moral choices, dynamic NPCs, and action that mixes fantastical spectacle with emotional stakes. It invites you to dive into the drama of skybound heroism, where loyalty is tested and no one is quite who they seem.

About me
I've been teaching for over a decade and have recently taken that experience to teaching and running games at conventions and game shops across the country. I love being able to roll with what players throw at me to build a world and experience they enjoy.

What Lorekeeper Marian brings to the table
As a Game Master, I bring ten years of experience as a high school teacher into the tabletop space. That means you can expect clarity, structure, and a deep respect for collaborative storytelling. I believe the best games are built on shared trust, enthusiastic curiosity, and the joy of discovery... just like a good lesson. Players at my table can expect a welcoming and thoughtful experience that balances roleplay, character development, and strategic encounters. I do character voices to the best of my meager ability. Mechanically, I run with a strong understanding of the Rules as Written, and Daggerheart has such a versatile system design that "Rule of Cool" is almost built-in. Combat at my table tends to be deliberate and engaging. While I don’t run every fight as a tactical puzzle, I do design them with meaningful stakes and room for creative problem-solving. Expect countdowns, shifting objectives, or social tension bleeding into battle—especially in systems like Daggerheart, which I’ve run through every stage of its beta development. My convention experience includes GMing Candela Obscura during its debut year at Gen Con in 2023, running all versions of Daggerheart’s beta, and running games at Gen Con, PAX Unplugged, and GAMA Expo in 2024, Origins in 2025, and I'm scheduled to run Daggerheart at GenCon again. Whether you're brand-new or a veteran, I aim to foster a play space that’s both inclusive and compelling—where everyone at the table feels heard, empowered, and excited to see what comes next.
Homebrew rules
I like to use the Rules as Written for Daggerheart. It's such a new game that I want everyone to have a taste of it as it is. That doesn't mean I'm rigid! Daggerheart is a very flexible and versatile game at its very core!

How Lorekeeper Marian creates a safe table
This game is intended to be PG-13 in content with minimal obvious triggers, but knowing that triggers can sometimes come up without warning and might not be obvious, I will be sending out a Lines & Veils document before the first session, and I'll ask any player who becomes uncomfortable during the session to immediately tell me verbally or to message me on discord if that's too uncomfortable.
