Monster of the Week: Ebonmoor
Explore the enigma that is Ebonmoor in the very real US state of Washachugan.
About the adventure
A Monster of the Week RP-heavy setting that takes place in a coastal city, unknowingly beset by evil. Inspired by things such as Pet Shop of Horrors, Little Shop of Horrors (yes this city will include many kinds of horrible shops, lol) Sailor Moon, Gravity Falls, and more! This will range from absolute horror to silly if you can't tell from the inspiration; we're here to have fun after all! Explore the hustle of the city and its many intriguing shops and strange residents, enjoy the beautiful sandy beach (and the terrors lurking below), or relax with your friends in the outskirts of town with vast fields, suburbs, and the ??????. But don't worry about that.

About me
I'm a 31yo nonbinary artist whose passion lies in storytelling! The most important things to me in ttrpgs are fun, roleplay, and story (including player characters' backstories, not just plot). I've been DMing for about 10 years and playing D&D for about 15. I love homebrew and having the players add onto the setting with locations, plot hooks, NPCs, deities, whatever they (reasonably) want to add! New players always welcome! Being LGBTQ+ myself, obviously this table loves and welcomes LGBTQ+ players! Do not expect a rules lawyer here; the rules are here for me to use as a base, something to fall back on, but ultimately we're here to have fun and do cool things. Rules can and will be waived or bent in my games - but only in the favor of the players, never to try and put you at a disadvantage. I'm here to challenge the player characters and be their guide through the world they explore. Sure, the dice gods may demand a death every once in a blue moon, but I'm 100% the party's biggest fan. This is also a space for us to escape reality; my games DO NOT include racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. either in game or at the table. It will not be tolerated. Yes, that applies to things such as "monstrous" races and their societies. There is no "inherently evil" at my table. The most realistic evil you'll see at my table are capitalists, monarchies, and player characters' horrible families from their tragic backstories. Was a professional player in Hp2Xp and isFriday livestreamed games 'Adventures in Umbranthal' and 'Crypt of the Ruby Dragon,' as well as a recurring player in shows on GirlsRunTheseWorlds! Currently running a magical girl inspired FATE game, 'Auriga Stars,' there! (also: conversational in American Sign Language, sign isn't listed as a language here)

Alta is by far one of the best DMs I've had over many years of playing. Always makes sure everyone is seen and heard. The stories they tell are just so fun and amusing, but they also can pull on your heartstrings with serious and emotionally intense scenes. If you got time check them out and give them a shot
Alta is hands down one of the best DM’s I have played with ever. They take story-telling to whole other level that really makes you part of it all. They take time and makes sure that everyone gets some special time for their character every session and will deal with whatever wacky bullshit your group may come up with. They have made my partner and I feel so welcome every time that we come to play. They have such a way with story telling that I get excited when they start to monologue about stuff, and the NPC’s are so lovable it’s unreal. You know when you’re supposed to fall in love with a character or when you’re supposed to find them fucking terrible, and they do an amazing job of writing out such characters. Every game is a different experience and I never know what’s going to happen, I’m always on the edge of my seat and I love it. Alta makes sure that everyone is having a good time and that everyone is comfortable with what’s happening, they allow a lot of room for player creativity and I appreciate that SO much as a player who’s very story/RP oriented. If you are searching for a DM to feed your deepest desires in that kinda way, Alta is someone you should consider. It was love from first game.
Altamirage has done an amazing job of creating worlds that feels alive, dynamic, and lived in. The storytelling is top notch, and they do a wonderful job of making the characters feel truly part of the world they inhabit. Alta also has some of the best NPC characters I've encountered so far. Just as importantly, Alta makes every player feel welcome at the table. If I'm ever looking to add an additional, I'll be checking to see what they are running first.
Alta does an amazing job at creating an interesting world with exciting lore and the most loveable NPCs. The NPC art alone is enough to make them an amazing DM Alta also makes sure every player feels included and enjoys their time as much as possible. This was my first D&D experience and they made sure to explain everything to me and help me along the way! You'll find yourself waiting for the next session and wishing it would come sooner
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will happen session 0, but feel free to come into this with a character idea ready to go. (:
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you NEED is a mic. Cameras are great because I love having visuals and it makes communication easier for me, but they are not required! Character sheets will be managed on Roll20, maps will be on Roll20.

Hard rules for all my games: NO racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, bigotry, etc. That includes fantasy versions (ie: "all orcs are born evil and therefore do x"). NO SA, noncon, torture, slavery. (Said things can be allowed, with approval, in PC backstories, and do exist in NPC backstories, but will not be directly mentioned or described) And... we're here to have fun!! <3 Will send a form pregame for lines/veils/etc. Will message to go over what kind of game everyone wants to play ("i hate puzzles" "i love combat" etc), touching base on things we don't want in the game, talking character dynamics, working on character sheets, explaining gameplay if new to the system. After games, I usually chat (in call or in discord) with everyone and joke around - I always try to balance out the harsh with humor, and I check in with everyone after a rough session. X cards will be whatever you are most comfortable with. <3
