Creating your character

One of my great joys and specialties as a game master is creating custom worlds based on what 𝘺𝘰𝘶 would most enjoy! In our session 0 and the lead-up to the game on Discord, we'll collectively do some extremely fun world-building games, and once we've created a world together, we'll make our characters!

Preparing for the session

It's very easy, I promise! 1. Join the Discord if you haven't already (https://discord.gg/8AVSGRwqHU) - and pop me a message to say hi - I'm daveyexmachina 😊 2. Have a working microphone (and preferably a webcam) 3. We play the game! Nothing else needed, and we'll sort out the rest in our session 0.

What Davey brings to the table

I will bring: ✨ DRAMA ✨ 🔸 My skills as a professional and award-winning storyteller 🔮 I'm a classically trained actor - most recently performing in the official D&D stage show 𝑇𝐻𝐸 𝑇𝑊𝐸𝑁𝑇𝑌 𝑆𝐼𝐷𝐸𝐷 𝑇𝐴𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑁 at the S͟y͟d͟n͟e͟y͟ ͟O͟p͟e͟r͟a͟ ͟H͟o͟u͟s͟e͟! 🎭 🧙‍♂️ Accents and voices galore (most of them very good! Some entertainingly bad!) 🔥 Over a decade of GMing experience 📜 PDF copies of sourcebooks and supplemental materials as well as maps, updated world-building documents, and more!

Homebrew rules

Mechanically our game will use D&D 5e but with some exciting additional rules from a marvellous system called Good Society (made for Jane Austen role-play), which introduces exciting and easy-to-learn rules for courtly scandals, dramatic letter-writing, and character creation - similar to what's used in Dimension 20's "A Court of Fey & Flowers"! 🧚 To give a flavour of what to expect, instead of your character's usual ability scores, we'll be re-flavouring slightly to this!: S̶t̶r̶e̶n̶g̶t̶h̶ = Poise 🤺💥 D̶e̶x̶t̶e̶r̶i̶t̶y̶ = Subtelty 🎭🗡️ C̶o̶n̶s̶t̶i̶t̶u̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ = Reputation 🏛️👑 I̶n̶t̶e̶l̶l̶i̶g̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ = Wit 🖋️🔮 W̶i̶s̶d̶o̶m̶ = Sensibility 💐👒 C̶h̶a̶r̶i̶s̶m̶a̶ = Charm 🥂✨ TL;DR: We'll do some collective worldbuilding and choose which exciting additional rules we'll incorporate during our session 0!

How Davey creates a safe table

✅ 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐋𝐒 Player safety is a BIG THING at my table. Especially for a game with themes of romance. 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦! I will always aim to make the game as welcoming and comfortable for you as possible. I will never ask for justifications for your preferences or additional requested accommodations, and there are never any judgments from me. We've all lived different lives, and the important thing is to feel safe. 𝒫𝓇𝑒-𝒞𝒶𝓂𝓅𝒶𝒾𝑔𝓃 ➡️ S͟e͟s͟s͟i͟o͟n͟ ͟0͟ to go over things before the game, and make sure you know exactly the kind of game you're getting yourself into.
