Here, ancient pacts are etched into bark and bone, and the forest remembers debts unpaid. Something has begun to stir beyond the treeline; something that watches, waits, and hungers. This Daily Play-by-Post campaign takes place on Discord, and is perfect for players who enjoy rich storytelling, immersive roleplay, and unraveling mysteries at their own thoughtful pace. The Crooked Moon blends classic fairytale tropes with psychological horror, moral ambiguity, and the tension of a world on the edge of remembering something it was never meant to forget. Creating your character
Welcome to Druskenvald, a world steeped in folklore and shadow. Before the whispers begin, you’ll need a character to stand against the darkness… Where to Build All characters will be created using D&D Beyond. Character Parameters Starting Level: 1st Available Species: Choose from the 13 new Reborn species introduced in The Crooked Moon (list will be provided) Or select a classic race from the Player’s Handbook Ability Scores: Standard Array 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 - assign these as you wish Encumbrance: Disabled - carry what makes narrative and thematic sense Starting Feat: All characters begin with one bonus feat at Level 1 (You may select any feat for which you meet the prerequisites) Hit Points: Maximum HP at Level 1 Starting Equipment: Choose either the default class/background equipment or roll for starting gold and purchase items Fateweaving Mechanic We will be using the Fateweaving system, a narrative-driven mechanic unique to The Crooked Moon that weaves your character into the deeper mysteries of the world. This will be introduced and personalized with you during character creation. If you need help with character ideas or technical questions, don't hesitate to reach out! What to expect
Preparing for the session
To participate in this game, you'll need a free D&D Beyond account and a free Discord account, as the game will be run entirely through Discord. We'll be using the Avrae Discord Bot for character sheet integration and dice rolling. If you're unfamiliar with Avrae, don't worry; there are excellent tutorials available to help you get started, and I’ll be available to assist with any questions you have from the player side. If you would like to better get into the roleplaying as your character, look into Tupperbox, another free discord bot that I utilize which allows you to chat as though speaking through your character's voice and image.
What Andrew G. brings to the table
As a Dungeon Master with over 10 years of experience and a deep passion for storytelling, I aim to guide you through this dark and twisted world with richly detailed narrative posts and streamlined mechanics. The game will feature fully illustrated maps via D&D Beyond, in-character narration, and dynamic NPC interactions using Tupperbox on Discord. You’ll have access to all the resources you need to build your character, and I’ll be available to assist with any questions throughout the process. I’m a strong believer in creative problem-solving and encourage players to think outside the box. If you have a unique idea, I’ll do everything I can to help you bring it to life within the story.
