About the adventure
In a world where knowledge is power, Strixhaven University stands as the greatest center of magical learning across the planes. Students come here to master spells, explore ancient mysteries, and maybe cause a little harmless chaos along the way. But lately, something's gone wrong. Nightmares whisper of a time before the schools were built—when spellcasters waged war without rules, and magic tore the world apart. This was the Blood Age... and it wants back in. Our campaign dives deep into arcane academia, with mystery, danger, and dark magic lurking just beneath the surface. You’ll play as struggling students—burnouts, rejects, late-bloomers, and magical disasters—who stumble onto a secret even the professors are too afraid to name. You may not be the best in your class, but you're the ones destiny picked, and it's going to take creativity, chaos, and probably detention to stop what's coming. This game is for players who love magic school stories, underdog heroes, and a healthy dose of dark fantasy. Expect a mix of mystery, comedy, emotional stakes, and high-stakes magical problem-solving. Whether you love roleplaying awkward study groups, deciphering ancient prophecies, or setting things on fire on purpose, there’s a place for you here. Welcome to the bottom of the class. The fate of Strixhaven is in your hands.

About me
"You look at all those people down there and realize that all the dreams that are being chased, that true spirit of this place is to hustle in the muck and the grime and grind away to make something miraculous happen. People make it happen for themselves." Hello, My Name is Dan James. I'm 28 years old and I've been GMing for almost 8 years now I've GMed a lot of D&D 5th edition and Monster of The Week. I have been expanding into a lot more TTRPGS to play. I have a background in Film, Theatre, and Storytelling overall and have a deep fondness for Expansive and Rich Table Top Role-Playing Adventures. I have strong attention to over-arching narratives and enjoy creating a space for players to collaboratively engage in the world they explore in. Representation is extremely important to me so I aim to create an inclusive world and adventures for players to explore. I hope to see you at the Table, ready for your next big adventure.

Creating your character
We will Have a FREE Session Zero to discuss characters and answer questions regarding the world of Strixhaven and House rules. The starting level is at level 1, any official D&D 5e content for lineage and class. Homebrew creations must be discussed with me beforehand. Ideally, you'll want to create a character that is linked to magic.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a working webcam and microphone for video chat via Discord. Please also have a character portrait ready so it can be turned into a token. Take some time to familiarize yourself with Roll20; if you don’t have an account, you can create one for free. Players should be comfortable with D&D 5e and open to a homebrew setting and mechanics. You’re welcome to use either digital dice or physical ones—I'll be using the honor system for both. Please send me your character sheet in advance. If you have any questions or want to talk through your character before the session, I’d be happy to chat!
