Gladiators of the Multiverse [Level 20 Battle Arena]
The most powerful adventurers and monsters of the multiverse have been gathered for the chance to win eternal glory. Will you be up for the task?
About the adventure
In the city at the center of the multiverse, gladiators fight for the honor of their plane, and a chance to earn their place in the pantheon of legends! Only the most powerful creatures from each plane of existence are invited by the Lady of Pain to compete in this epic 'Tournament of the Multiverse'. You are one of several powerful adventurers who have been invited as Gladiators of the Material Planes, and you must work together in order to defeat whatever lies in store...are you up to the task? This is a perfect one shot adventure for someone who has always wanted to test the limits of what Dungeons and Dragons characters are capable of against the most powerful monsters in the multiverse! This is a 'battle arena' style DnD experience, with a large focus on tactical combat and teamwork. You will need to work together as a group in order to overcome these chaotic and powerful adversaries! There will be small opportunities for roleplay and puzzle solving, but this adventure is primarily for the experienced DnD combat enthusiast. If you've ever created an incredibly powerful or interesting character that you've never gotten the chance to play, this is the perfect place to try them out! We'll be playing at character level 20 with access to the most powerful abilities, spells, and items in the game. You'll go into this experience 'blind' about your teammates and their characters, making the best of the people you find yourself fighting alongside. My goal is for everyone to have an awesome experience, and for each of us to have a chance to revel in some of the wildest parts of what high level DnD has to offer!

About me
Hello! I'm a 31 year old nerd from Seattle, WA area who loves to GM on the side! I've been running DnD 5th edition and Star Wars 5e games as a GM since 2019, and have grown to really love this medium. The cooperative storytelling, tactical decision making, goofy antics, and exploration are just some of the things that keep me coming back for more! I started out playing in person, but over the last couple of years I've gotten very familiar with running games online and have really enjoyed getting better with many of the online tools. I have three goals anytime I sit down (or log in) to GM a game: 1. I want everyone around the table to be enjoying themselves. That looks differently for every player, and I think its my job to engage with each person in a way that helps them to enjoy the experience. My goal is always to make sure that I am facilitating the kind of game that my players will find enjoyable! 2. I want everyone around the table to feel respected. Nobody can have fun if they don't feel respected or like a boundary of theirs has been crossed. My goal is always to establish and enforce these boundaries so that everyone can enjoy the game! 3. I want everyone around the table to leave feeling like they got to be part of the story. I think the beauty of TTRPG's are the stories we can create together. My goal is always to work together with the players to create an awesome story that is meaningful and memorable for each person!

I had a great time playing Tylers' one shot. He is fair, listens to ideas even if crazy ones, and I never felt rushed to make a decision on my turn. His reviews are small, but in time they will sky rocket. Give him a chance and feel fulfilled after playing his game. I'm looking forward for another of his one shots in the future.
Tyler has a knack for ensuring engagement amongst the playgroup, and looking to keep the enjoyment of a play through at the forefront. He’s open to questions about how rules on skill checks, actions, etc can play in to your idea of your character’s flavor and personality. He is always fair and happy to explain why he decided any particular ruling. In Tyler you will have a GM that will allow you to explore and have agency while being a fair referee and arbiter to keep the story moving.
Character creation
Creating your character
When you join, you'll be invited to my Roll20 game 'Gladiators of the Multiverse'. After joining this game you'll gain access to my Roll20 Compendium for creating your level 20 character sheet. I'm working on expanding my collection, but have all of the basics (and the money I'm earning is going straight to expanding the collection). Character Creation - All official races/species are allowed, from any setting. - All official classes, items, and spells, are allowed. - Standard array stats only please. - We'll use the 2024 updated 5e changes to spells/combat, so be sure to check if your spells & features will work as intended in the updated 5e system (i.e. 2024 changes to counterspell) Equipment & Items You can buy as much standard, non-magical equipment as you want. For casters, I assume you have the monetary components to cast every spell you have on hand. You can have any combination of magic items, so long as they add up to 10 points using the following table: UNCOMMON are 1 point RARE are 2 points VERY RARE are 3 points LEGENDARY are 4 points. ARTIFACTS cost 6 points. Consumables cost half the point cost per rarity; this means that a rare consumable is 1 point instead of 2, very rare is 1.5 point, etc. Please understand that I reserve the right to say 'no' to anything which I feel like might be detrimental to our experience in combat; but I will always try my very best to make things work!
What to expect

What Tyler Burke brings to the table
Running high level DnD combat is complex as a GM, and so I use a lot of tools on Roll20 in order to help me stay organized. We'll be using that platform for everything; our character creation, battle maps, video/voice chat, and battle music! My hope as your GM is always to make combat feel exciting, challenging, and engaging. I want the victory to mean something when you win, and the defeat to be palatable if you lose. I don't approach battle arenas as a player vs GM experience, but all of us working together to create an epic battle worth remembering!
Homebrew rules
Tyler’s 5e House Rules 1. “Downed” condition When a character is brought to 0 hp, unless there is an effect that states otherwise, they now have the ‘downed’ condition (instead of falling unconscious). A downed creature is still conscious, and may speak freely. The downed condition is removed if a character is healed to 1hp or higher. A successful medicine check (DC 15) brings a downed character to 1hp. A downed character must begin each of its turns by making a death saving throw. A downed character is prone; their movement speed is reduced to 5ft; they cannot take any actions or reactions; they automatically fail all saving throws (besides death saving throws); and they are automatically hit by any attack which targets them (besides ranged attacks when the downed character has cover). Any form of damage taken by a character who is downed adds a failed death save. Each time a character is downed they receive one level of exhaustion. 2. Hidden Death Saving Throws When a player character with the ‘downed’ condition makes their death saving throws, it is a private roll between that player and the DM. Players may not communicate their death saving throws with each other. The DM may choose to describe the state of a downed character as they progress through their death saving throws. 3. Last Stand When a character with the ‘downed’ condition reaches three failed death saves, they are able to take a ‘Last Stand’ action before they die. The options a character has for their ‘Last Stand’ action will vary depending on the context, and will be determined by the DM. After the effects of this action have resolved, the character dies.

How Tyler Burke creates a safe table
We'll start our time going over boundaries for playing DnD with one another. This will help ensure that everyone feels respected and can fully enjoy the experience! If anyone feels a boundary has been crossed, they can request a short break during play so we can address the issue and then jump back into our battle.
