About the adventure
Night City. The city of dreams. A city of neon lights, rampant crime, and unchecked corporate greed. A city of highrises and lowlifes, where the rich get richer and the poor literally fight to survive. A shining jewel of towering megacorporations, cutting edge technology, and violent cyberpunks trying to take something back for themselves. Two decades ago a nuclear device blew a gaping hole in the heart of Night City, and only now is it really starting to recover. The scars of the brutal 4th Corporate War are still fresh. Supply lines are down. Corporate forces have been decimated. Governments struggle to reassert control. Desperate people have been displaced, putting pressure on the few livable places left in a world that's more chrome than flesh and blood. Night City is slowly rebuilding, creating a time of change and opportunity. At least for the people who survive. So who are you in this city, choomba? The answer is nobody. Not yet, at least. Right now you're just another punk trying to make enough scratch to eat and pay this month's rent. You'll hit The Street, take on jobs, save up the eddies for a preem new weapon or piece of chrome, then do it all over again. You'll meet people, make friends, make enemies, and find something you care about. Or maybe you'd rather have nothing to lose. Either way, you'll be sure to get yourself stuck in some of the nasty business that happens on every level of Night City, and if you can handle the heat you might just make a name for yourself. Maybe you'll even become a legend and get a drink named after you at the Afterlife when you finally bite the dust, like every good legend does. First, you gotta chip in. Live on the Edge is a Cyberpunk Red sandbox campaign set in 2045, 22 years after the destruction of Arasaka Tower and 32 years before the events of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Playing as a crew of Edgerunners, you'll be free to choose the gigs you want to take, build a reputation on The Street, and immerse yourself in the world of Cyberpunk. This will be a high-lethality sandbox where you start as a small fish in a big pond. What risks are you willing to take to be someone in this city?

About me
I'm Yirco! I've been playing TTRPGs for years and have GM'd for most of that time. I started with 5e but quickly wanted to branch out to other games. Most of my GMing experience, cumulating to about 5 years total, has been with Vampire: The Masquerade, Dragon Age, and Delta Green. In that time I've found my specialty in delivering impactful narratives over the course of a campaign and building living, meaningful worlds for my players to tell their stories in. Most of my gaming experience has been with friends over long distances using online connection and gaming tools, so I'm very familiar with running a game over the internet.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be handled during session 0, or in a meeting with me before your first session for new players entering mid-campaign. We'll be using the Complete Package character creation system from the core book with all the standard numbers: - 62 points total for stats - 90 total points for skills (including the 4 points in native language) - 2,550eb for weapons, armor, gear, and cyberware - 800eb for fashion and fashionware (lose what you don't spend) - 4 ranks in your starting Role All items from all official books and supplements are available at character creation except for items from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit and its DLCs.
- Solo, Combat Awareness 5 - Fixer, Operator 5 - Tech, Maker 5 (Invention 4, Fabrication 3, Upgrade 2, Field 1) A Netrunner, Exec, Medtech, or Nomad would have a unique place in the crew (though they did steal a car recently, so they have that bit of utility covered). Tech, social, and combat skills are well covered, so a character with good education/investigation skills would fill a niche but would also be more situational. All of our characters are well optimized for combat, and the enemies are tough.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
If you're new to Cyberpunk, I encourage you to read at least the combat and character creation rules from the core book, and to familiarize yourself a bit with the lore! I'm happy to help new players learn the game, but it's up to you to know your character's abilities and what's available to you. Have a few ideas about what kinds of characters you'd like to play, then at session 0 or in our meeting we'll find the one that best fits the crew. The rest can be backups in case your first meets their fate.
What Yirco brings to the table
I'll provide a discord server and a link to a FoundryVTT server for us to play in, as well as access to the core rulebook and several supplementary materials for you to use. I'll have maps and can help you find suitable tokens for your characters. I'll also provide systems for you to see the gigs that are available to the crew and to keep track of the flow of time in-game. When running the game I'll use music to get that real Cyberpunk feel and my best acting skills to bring NPCs to life. I'll prepare jobs and storylines for your crew to pursue, and I'll portray a vibrant city that responds to your actions when you make big enough waves.
Homebrew rules
- LUCK Saves: When a character with LUCK needs a lucky break and it could reasonably go either way, roll a d10. If it lands under their LUCK stat, it works out for them. Could add bonuses or penalties to the roll for more or less likely outcomes. - Luck Mulligans: When a character with LUCK fails a check, they can spend Luck points to add bonuses to the check at double the normal rate (2 points of Luck per +1 bonus to the check) to turn the failure into a success. Major Success and Failures: A success of 25 or more on any check with a DV of 21 or less gains an added narrative benefit beyond simple success. A failure of 5 or less on any check gets an added narrative complication, beyond simple failure. Does not apply in combat.

Safety
How Yirco creates a safe table
The predominant concerns in this game are violence, crime, and extreme body modification. However, all sorts of unsavory things happen in Night City, so anything not explicitly a line might arise. I will have every player fill out the Monte Cook Consent Checklist and compile everyone's responses into one sheet that will serve as the master list of lines and veils for the campaign. Anything marked red on the sheet will be a line and will not be included. Anything marked yellow can still be included, but will be handled sensitively behind a veil. I encourage all players to express if a scene is making them uncomfortable during play and I will be happy to skip the content or put it behind a veil. There will also always be time at the end of a session for you to discuss the game with me, and you can message me any time if you have issues with the content.
