If you're looking for a high-tier high-level game where you're free to bring the craziest build imaginable and yet still be challenged, Maximus is absolutely the DM for you. Manages to balance things even around absurdly powerful builds, which is no small feat, and runs fun combats. That's not to say combat is all he's good at, he also made good use of character voices and the one-shot I played with him had some fun RP moments as well

Played in a combat one-shot with Randall, he did a great job running interesting combat with a large number of combatants on the field. The enemies were varied and even better, they weren't just a pool of hitpoints to beat again, there were moments when tactics were everything and meant the difference between success and failure. I also appreciated how for a combat-focused one-shot he still made sure to include plenty of descriptions and others to help it be engaging and not just "I deal 9000 points of damage"
