About the adventure

War ... War never changes ... The remnants of Caesar's Legion, after their defeat at Hoover Dam at the hands of the NCR and armed militias of New Vegas, have crossed the front range of the Rocky Mountains, enslaving those in their path and leaving nothing but rabid packs of wild dogs in their wake ... The Brotherhood of Steel has established a base at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, where they jealously guard the vast treasury of pre-war tech found deep within the tunnels of Vault 0, all the while forming an uneasy alliance with a sadistic artificial intelligence known only as The Calculator ... Scientific geniuses gather within the Boulder Dome, sheltered from the world outside while they experiment with mysterious new technology and terrifying bio-weapons, and oblivious to the treachery within their ranks ... And you ... what role will you play in the Western Wasteland? This is a Fallout story set in the Colorado area, and features all the classic gadgets, weapons, and creatures from the Fallout universe! Come and join us for some irradiated adventures! Knowledge of the Fallout TTRPG ruleset is not necessary, the story and game is designed with all experience levels in mind! If you have played before, that's great, too! All are welcome! These sessions are custom-made and written by me, your GM, who has a great love for the series from over 20 years of playing the games. I hope you'll love your time in the Wastelands with me just as much!

About me

There are so many stories to be told, let's tell some of them together! TTRPGs are a wonderful way of building a tight community and having a wildly imaginative time doing it. I bring a passion for stories and adventure and an immense imagination to the table, along with a pure joy for the worlds we are lucky enough to play in! Whether it's Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire: The Masquerade, Call of Cthulhu, or Fallout, your adventures with me will be unforgettable!

Character creation

Creating your character

Everyone will build their characters during Session Zero, and we'll all be starting at Level 3 so everyone has a good range of skills to use. I will have a bunch of pre-made character templates that you can start with, sort of grab-and-go style, with all of your points and inventory already set. How you build your character's backstory, personality, and all the rest is still entirely up to you! If you'd like to build your character totally from scratch, I'll also provide you with blank character sheets for both Organic and Robotic characters, allowing you to build your character exactly how you'd like! Familiarity with the Fallout universe is certainly helpful, but is not necessary! Even if this is your first exposure to this amazing post-apocalyptic world, I promise you'll enjoy your time here!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We'll have our sessions on Discord, so players will need a mic (a webcam is welcome but not necessary) to join in. I'll provide the link to my Discord server when you sign on! If you have a dice set you can bring along to our sessions, that would be great! You don't need to have any knowledge of the ruleset to jump in! We'll cover the majority of the rules during our first couple sessions in a steady and easy-to-understand manner, in a sort of "tutorial mission".

What Paul Willis brings to the table

First and foremost, I am bringing a huge love and passion for this series from over 20 years of playing the games, and I think that will be obvious in my enthusiasm as an "Overseer"/GM. I want everyone to enjoy exploring this amazing universe as much as I have over the years! I will be providing all manner of maps and information through my VTT screen-share, much like having a Pip-Boy open and available for all to see! I'll even give the party an option to open a "radio station" on their Pip-Boy so we can have music during our game! I am not a voice actor, but I enjoy different accents and voices for NPCs, and I love seeing my players enjoy the roleplaying aspect of our adventures as well! Combat will be challenging and tactical, but I lean more toward the Rule of Cool over Rules as Written. We'll stick to the rules as much as possible to keep everything fair, but if you want to try something amazing just say so and we'll make your encounters nail-biting together!

Safety

How Paul Willis creates a safe table

When players sign up, I will send them a link to the RPG Consent Checklist I use, and ask them to look it over before Session Zero. At the start of Session Zero we'll just quickly go over the list so everyone is on the same page, but I want players to also have the opportunity to message me privately beforehand if they wish to do so. I like to check in with my players between sessions, sharing story ideas and character concepts and keeping my door open for anyone to come to me with issues they might be having. My open door policy is always in effect, and I welcome messages or contact from players who want to discuss anything they're uncomfortable with. The Fallout universe can be strange and disturbing at times, but I still want everyone to have the best possible time at my table! I'll keep a text channel open during sessions, too, so players can message me at any point during games if we edge into something they aren't comfortable with.
