About the adventure
PLOT ----- You return to the Witchlight Carnival to recover that which was taken years ago. Whilst enjoying the rides, competing for prizes at the stalls, you learn from the varied Carnival staff that there is more sinister things happening behind the scenes. You will journey into the Feyrealm of Prismear, which has been usurped by the hourglass coven of 3 hags. Each has its own land of Hither, Thither and Yon and its own theme and problems. Leading the Palace of Hearts' desire and the imprisoned Archfey. Can you recover what was taken from you and restore balance to the land, freeing the prisoner in the Palace of Hearts' Desire? Or will you become another lost soul? THE CAMPAIGN ------------ The campaign is based in the Feywild, so expect lots of weird environments, wacky NPCs, and wonderful items to interact with. The campaign has lots of connections with a rich tapestry of social interactions and hidden secrets. It's a good campaign for roleplay and for players who leave no stone unturned. Each map has many areas to explore, creating very rich environments. It is possible to complete the whole story without drawing your sword (if you want). Collecting gold and upgrading your gear is not as important as finding the treasures and rewards. Characters start at Lv1 and advance in level as the story progresses. PLAY BY POST ----------------------- The whole campaign is delivered via Discord (story) and Owlbear Rodeo (maps). Your DM will post at least once a day (probably more) the unfolding story, Players then post their interactions and roleplay, roll dice in D&D Beyond and Discord. And so the adventure reveals. PBP is great for people who find it hard to meet a regular schedule of games, who like to microdose on D&D daily, and who enjoy writing and getting into roleplaying. Players who really like to consider their actions and plan them out. With a mobile device, you can play anywhere - On a bus = D&D time - Standing in line for checkout = D&D time - Waiting for your grilled cheese = D&D time - Any down time = D&D time --- PLAY BY POST ACTIVITY --- PBP are slow but enjoyable. To keep things flowing for everyone, I will make a substantial post every 24-36 hours to move the game along. Between that time, I will pop into the game and answer questions and make comments for fun and help players decide their actions. I ask players if they are done in a certain scene before moving on. Players are asked to post in a similar way. Of course, we understand that sometimes life happens and you don't get the time or headspace to meet this commitment. In which case, your character can pause or be run by someone else. There can be audio summaries in Discord to help you catch up if you miss many things. An impression of time difference in PBP vs live games is 2 hours of live games is approximately 1 month PBP. Players game together happily across different life schedules and time zones.

About me
I specialise in running Dungeons & Dragons adventures and I like to inject a bit of humour into them all. I follow the nr1 rule that "D&D is about having fun!" I have been doing fantasy games all my life and love making stories for others, and enjoy seeing my players interact. I like to get to know my players and their characters and tweek the story to give them something personal to chew on. For my homebrew adventures I like to use popular cultural references in my games, especially when naming monsters (like a quiz) and crazy NPCs. I use Discord, Owlbear Rhodeo and Theatre of the mind with some AI images to make the experience more immersive. I really like running Play-by-Post adventures as we get to know each other over a longer period of timme and on a daily basis. For me running games is like spending time with people who enjoy each others creativity.

Creating your character
The campaign starts are level 1 and finishes at level 8 You will have access to all shared resources via the D&D Beyond campaign link to select your species, class, background, etc. We will be using the new 2024 rules. - Build your character in D&D Beyond - Start at level 1 - Point buy or standard array for stats - Starting equipment - Species and classes available via campaign link (including fairy and herengon) - If you have something special in mind, please contact me, it will probably be ok. It's a wacky adventure so I would recommend not playing the strong silent type, Someone you can really bring to life with Play-By-Post
We have a Rapping Bard and a sinister clown Rogue. Who have just left the carnival and entered the land of Hither. So much to do and explore if you want to join. PLAY BY POST ----------------------- The whole game is delivered via Discord (story) and Owlbear rodeo (maps). Your DM will post the unfolding story at least once a day (probably more). Players then post their interactions and roleplay, roll dice in D&D Beyond and Discord. The DM then responds, and so the adventure reveals. PBP is great for people who find it hard to meet a regular schedule of games, who like to microdose on D&D daily, and who enjoy writing and getting into roleplaying. or who find they cannot access live face-to-face games. With a mobile device, you can play anywhere, anytime. You will NOT NEED to learn Avrea commands. The benefits of play-by-post are: - THOUGHTFUL ACTIONS: Take your time considering your optimal combat move or roleplay interaction. - FRIENDSHIPS: Bond with your fellow players as they become a daily presence in your life - CHARACTER BUILDING: Dive deep into your character as you roleplay through text, giving as much detail to their thoughts, responses and personality as the campaign builds. - FLEXIBLE GAMING: Play anytime, anywhere with people across different time zones.
