About the adventure

New Player Friendly | Witchcraft | Grim Heroism | Deep Lore | Rare Setting We should have acted, they are already here, the Eminence of Araunt told of their return, their defeat was merely a delay for in the time after the worlds were sundered. When the children of Rashemen would spill Thayan blood. No one wanted to believe evil arrives wearing a friendly face corrupting Rashemaar tradition into a weapon. Now, spirits wail in the night, neighbors go missing. The land itself groans under a darkness greater than war. This is a tale of a people divided, of masked witches, berserkers, and the unforgiving wilds. You won’t find Waterdeep here—only dark pine, ancestral oaths, and a culture clinging to survival. Rashemen is rarely explored in official campaigns, making this a unique chance to dive deep into one of the Forgotten Realms’ most compelling regions. ✦ Roleplay-forward, character-driven narrative ✦ Grounded heroism in a high-stakes world ✦ Slavic/Viking themes, spiritual mystery, and political tension ✦ All experience levels welcome ✦ Fully compatible with 2024 Core Rulebooks (One D&D) ✦ Weekly sessions | Foundry VTT + | DnDBeyond | Discord | Session 0 included Burn away the Old Past. About me

I have been a GM for Dungeons and Dragons for over 20 years starting with AD&D 2e progressing in to 3e, v3.5, 4e, and 5e. I have also ran multiple living campaigns with dozens of players in both D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2nd Edition Revised.

When I came into the Dungeons and Dragons space in mid-20 with very little experience, and even more questions than I had answers; I stumbled across Stuart in a discord server full of people and joined one of the Living Campaigns he was co-hosting. And, to be completely honest, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since then, I have joined into one of his traditional campaigns; and I have been so deeply in love with the story that not only he has crafted for us to involve ourselves in, but allowed us to write as well. In the campaigns he runs it as if you do, truthfully, make the largest changes in the world; even if they may seem small at the given moment - whether that be destroying a Cult, or banishing a God, it as if every step you take, every breath that you pull into your lungs; is one that has meaning. If there is anyone who I trust with my characters, my insane ideas and my absurd plans; it is Stuart. If there is anyone who makes a world feel Alive and Immersive, it is also Stuart.

Stuart is at the apex of the craft, I have only been playing with him for a few months, and I know him to be infinitely knowledgeable about settings, gracious about character decisions, and amazing in terms of storytelling. Whether that be building suspense, creating nasty enemies, or performing months-long plot lines with intense detail and care, Stuart is an effortless expert.

I've been playing in Stuart's campaigns for about four years now, and he never ceases to amaze me with the quality of games he puts out. Their storytelling is immersive and their world building is rich and immersive, and don't even get me started on his characters. Every single of them has left it's mark on me both in character and out of character, I still to this day get emotional about certain ones he's crafted. His world-building is some of the best I have ever come across. Where every little thing matters, hat obscure religious text we found three sessions ago? It ties into the fate of a dying god. The folk songs sung in taverns? They’re actually prophecies in disguise. Even the monsters we fight have their own cultures, motives, and legends, making every encounter more than just an encounter to get past. He keeps me on my toes, constantly having me theorize about what's happening next, who really is the BBEG, to are we really doing the right thing? You don’t just learn about the world with Stuart, you unravel it, piece by piece. If you're looking for a Dungeon Master who puts passion, effort and their whole damn heart into every game look no further. He is the one who made me fall in love with TTRPGS in the first place and I hope he does for you too.

I was pointed in Stu's direction by a mutual friend and soon after joined one of his campaigns. I had no experience playing D&D online or playing the current edition (played 3.5 in person for 20+ yrs), but Stuart and the wonderful group of players he has gathered have all made learning enjoyable and easy. I've been playing in that same campaign for about a year now and have to say, Stuart is a top notch storyteller and dungeon master, I feel lucky every time I get a spot at his sessions.

Stuart is an incredible DM! I have been working with him for a year and his games are fantastic. The stories are compelling, the narrative easy to follow. He always sets the scene and the atmosphere is extraordinary every time. Everyone would be lucky to work with him, truly. He always keeps players safe, and is huge on collaborative storytelling! He is a joy to work with, and the best DM I've ever worked with.

I have been playing D&D and different systems for more than 20years, and I can say that Stu is one of the best DMs I played with. Look no further, this guy is a great storyteller!

The current party

This is a roleplay-rich, combat-intense campaign set in one of the most evocative and mysterious regions of the Forgotten Realms. What Stuart brings to the table

🎁 What I Bring to the Table When you join my table, you’re getting more than just dice rolls—you’re stepping into a fully realized world. Here’s what I bring to every game: 🎭 Character Voices – I use distinct voices to help bring NPCs to life and keep the world feeling dynamic and real. 🗺️ Custom Maps & Tokens – Every major location and combat map is hand-selected or custom-made, tailored to the setting and encounter. 🎵 Ambient Music & Sound – I use carefully chosen background music and sound effects to heighten immersion and mood. 📚 DND Beyond Access – Players will have access to most official sourcebooks through campaign sharing, so you can build and explore freely. ⚔️ Intense, Tactical Combat – Fights matter. I design combat with real stakes, smart enemies, and environmental twists that challenge strategy and creativity. 🧠 Worldbuilding & Lore-Focused – Expect a living, breathing setting with its own history, culture, and mysteries. The world reacts to your choices. ⚖️ Balanced GM Style – I run a healthy mix of Rules as Written and Rule of Cool. If it’s awesome and makes narrative sense, I’ll usually say yes—but fairness and consistency still matter. 🧭 What to Expect You’ll be making meaningful choices with real consequences. Exploration, political intrigue, and character-driven stories are central, but we also won’t shy away from cinematic action or dark turns. If you love digging into lore, shaping the world around you, and standing toe-to-toe with dangerous foes—this is your game.

Safety
How Stuart creates a safe table

Aftercare – After each session, we hang out for a bit to talk about how things went. You're welcome to share what you loved, what didn’t land, or just decompress. If you'd prefer to check in privately, I’m always available for a quick message after the game. Bleed – We talk about bleed (when emotions from the game mix with real life) openly. If anything ever hits too close to home, you’re encouraged to speak up—or just let me know after. Breaks – We take regular breaks every 60–90 minutes. You can also call a break at any time—just say it in chat or out loud. Debriefing – I end each session with a quick debrief. It’s optional, but it’s a chance to reflect, check in, or just say “that was cool.” Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist – Before we play, I’ll send you a consent form to help define what’s okay at the table (and what’s not). You can update it anytime.
