About the adventure
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a modern woman trapped in Regency England must be in want of a rich husband. Or is she? When Elizabeth Meng discovered a portal to an alternate reality that looks just like the year 1811, she made a decision none of her board members saw coming. Being a secret romantic and an Austenmaniac, she began to explore the idea of using the portal for tourism. But the portal broke during the first big experiment, leaving five women stranded in the past with nothing but the dresses on their backs, one modern gadget each, and flimsy false identities. These ladies are: - Elizabeth Meng, a self-made pharma/tech millionaire, pretending to be Lady Meng, a countess from the Far East - Hannah Heartwright, a local dog breeder and family historian, posing as Miss Hannah, a long lost relative of the Heartwright family - Angelica Lovelace, a psychologist, a famous relationship guru, but actually a conwoman, her latest false identity being Mrs. Lovelace, a young widow - Jaya Parr, a chaos theory specialist sent by academic authorities, pretending to be Miss Parr, daughter of an Indian princess and a Colonel of East India Company - Marie Battenheim, a security officer and a survival expert, crossdressing as Mr. Battenheim, a traveler, an exotic flower hunter, and a protector of ladies Now, three months later, it’s time for the ladies to admit that they’re most likely here to stay, and to plan accordingly. Sir Heartwright can’t be your gracious host forever, so whereto next? Can you find a way to stay in Derbyshire and live comfortably without having to trap yourself in a loveless marriage? Will you hitch your wagon to a dashing gentleman, or a mysterious lady, or to a fellow time traveler? We’ll be playing in an unpublished homebrew system called Femme & Fatale. It’s a simple narrative-first system for Regency romances whose main characters are more than meets the eye. The game will be one social encounter after another, with an occasional skill challenge, but most likely no fighting. The game encourages romance, both queer and straight, but doesn’t enforce it. The game should run for 3 x 4 hours. For media inspiration, check out Lost in Austen (miniseries, 2008), Outlander (series, 2014~), and maybe even Austenland (2013), or Timeline (2003). About me
I'm light on rules, low on tech, heavy on roleplay, and high on story. I found TTRPGs in 2014. Within a couple months, I turned into a forever GM. And I love it! I have a Ph.D. in English literature, so this is my way of using it for the greater good. My love for storytelling spans multiple genres. I will make you feel cool in adventure games, make you laugh in light-hearted games, spook you in horror games, make you blush in romance games, and warm your heart in wholesome games. I offer original one-shots and mini-campaigns using various systems, including my own homebrew systems. I GM in English or in Czech.

Creating your character
Characters are pre-made. During the textual Session Zero, you will choose a character and discuss any minor changes you'd like to implement.
This two shot will be played over the span of one weekend.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Having read or seen at least one Regency romance is a big advantage. Any Austen novel or screen adaptation will do. Our game is a tribute to that genre, much like the film Austenland or the BBC miniseries Lost in Austen. If possible, sign up a few days before the game starts so you can go through out textual session zero and select a pre-made character. You'll need a Discord account, an external or internal mic, and a working camera (unless you're exempted from using your camera on account of bad internet connection, dysphoria, etc). You'll have the option of background music via Watch2Gether, for which I'd recommend headphones.
What RPG Angie brings to the table
a private Discord channel where we will prep and run the game, a homebrew system with pretty character sheets, atmospheric music, photographs of PCs and NPCs from period movies, lively NPCs with specific voices, funny improv, romantic improv, moments where characters can show off their modern skills and knowledge, and helpful trivia about Regency England.
