About the adventure
Hydaelyn has faced many threats, and many heroes have risen to the task, ready to venture further and further to meet them. But now, as the prevalence of adventurers rises, and legendary warriors make names for themselves against enemies that would threaten the world itself, a question emerges: Despite their fame, how can heroes save those they cannot reach, or thwart villains they cannot see? When you, a series of Guild recruits, end up tasked with looking into a malevolent figure wreaking havoc across Eorzea, you find yourselves swept up in a plot that leaves you in unfamiliar lands. Can you find the mysterious traveler, unravel his plans and make your way back to Aldenard?

About me
Hello there! I'm Fitz (they/he), and I have been a GM for about 10 years—4 of those professionally. I run weekly paid games, high concept one-shots, and have built up quite the tight-knit community over at what we like to call "Also Dragons". Most of the campaigns I run take place in an overarching homebrew setting, spanning different genres, corners of the world, and differing types of magic and technology. Together they paint a larger picture, each player adding a brushstroke.

Creating your character
Due to the use of 3rd party content, including brand new classes, character creation will not start until session zero, where characters will start at 1st level. We'll familiarize folks with new FFXIV-themed material and then begin discussion of potential backstory connections with the world or fellow players. Nothing worse than a player making a character they are passionate about only to find that it's not a good fit for the setting or the party! There are some other details around equipment and house rules that will be elaborated on in Session Zero and may inform some player choices!
Tuesdays at 10pm Pacific (1am Eastern) *Session zero/sit-in free for new players to get a feel for me as a DM!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Stable, reliable internet connection and audio quality required. Video preferred but totally optional. We will be using Discord for voice, video, campaign tracking, and battlemaps!
What Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons brings to the table
I will be providing a large compendium of 3rd party 5e content that will help us to achieve the feel and power fantasy of the Final Fantasy series! In addition, I have animated battle maps which we will be using via a screensharing VTT method. I prefer this approach as I feel it best emulates an at-the-table feel and reduces the amount of tabs and things for people to keep track of!

Session Zero allows the players to take the floor, ask questions about the setting, make requests for content they would (or would not) like to see. We will get you oriented with the Also Dragons server, discuss house rules and general community dynamic, and go through content-consent checklists to gauge levels of comfortability with subject matter that may (but will likely not) arise.
