Beginner Friendly Curse of Strahd
Tricked into traveling into the lands of Barovia, the players must not only find their way home, but must also survive the horros of Strahd.
About the adventure
Set in Sword Coast (At least at the start), this is the Curse of Strahd: Revamped for Dungeons and Dragons 5e, which has more updates and content than the vanilla CoS. Running in Foundry I'll be featuring animated attacks, tokens and interactive maps. Voice will be powered by Discord, or in Foundry itself if players prefer. I aim to tell a story with my players instead of at or around them. Sessions will be Role Play heavy, but there will be exciting combat. The game will be ran as an open world version. Meaning if you wanted to wander into somewhere you shouldn't be yet, I'll let you. Rule of cool in full effect here and very beginner friendly. If you haven't even played DnD before and want to start somewhere, I'd be honored to be your first steps into this amazing hobby. The only stupid questions are the ones not asked.

About me
I've been my friends forever GM since 3.5 and 1e pathfinder and have loved doing it! During Covid, I really started to enjoy playing DnD using Foundry and Roll20, being able to draw up my own maps and tokens without an expensive trip to the game shop. I focus on running official modules and one shots to make things a bit easier while I draw up my own custom campaign based on things that my players enjoy! My style tends to be survival and RP heavy sessions instead of just gathering numbers, and I really enjoy gothic/dark settings. My first question to you as a player will always be "What are you comfortable with and what is a hard limit" to ensure everyone is comfortable and having a fun time, and the end of sessions will most often be me asking for feedback on my performance as a DM so I can always improve. I am also a streamer (a VTuber nonetheless) but sessions will NOT be streamed/recorded without unanimous consent from the group.

Rule of Cool
Our party took a very serious game and turned it into lesbian/Monty Python-esq shenanigans. Zed was amazingly encouraging and played along. There are a lot of GM's that want to tell their story through your character and are upset when you don't do what they want. Zed is not like that. He let us players determine who our characters are and flowed with what ridiculous actions we took. An absolute pleasure. Will book again.
Zed is a great DM, especially for beginners. He took time to explain the D&D rules as we played, but didn't bog down with an hour of "how to play" before we could jump into character and start playing. We played part one of an adventure, and I'm really looking forward to playing again!
This was my second ever DnD game with my four person group. Zed was absolutely phenomenal at teaching, story telling, and just having a fun time. Tons of laughs. Great teacher, great for beginners. Tons of patience. Already want to start a campaign with him. Would highly recommend. Great person!
Character creation
Creating your character
Using DnD Beyond, Characters can start at lvl 1 if they want to run the tutorial mission, lvl 3 if they want to skip it altogether. This will be voted on in Session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Mic at minimum is required as this is not a text based adventure. Character creation can be done at session 0 with my assistance if needed. I will be using a method that lets me import characters created in beyond to Foundry

How Zed creates a safe table
As the rulebook says, the rules will be referenced, but I as the GM get the final call. I try to stick more to what is cool rather than what makes sense in SOME cases.
