About the adventure

What to expect: *Adventure in the Dessarin Valley, battling Elemental Cults! *Take the fight to the cults' lairs: enormous multi-level temples dedicated to each element! *Do your part to keep the many settlements in the Dessarin Valley safe, and bring balance back to nature! Back cover synopsis: "The first signs are always small; bandits on the Dessarin River, monster sightings throughout the Sumber Hills--all too close to the lands of civilized folk. To top things off, a delegation from the dwarven city of Mirabar has gone missing. Are these events all some bizarre coincidence, or is there a deeper meaning behind them? Working through its prophets, the Elder Elemental Eye has emerged to spread chaos across the Forgotten Realms. How will the adventurers prevent absolute destruction?"

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen on D&D Beyond in the time between joining and your first session. I will be happy to clarify any questions via Discord or StartPlaying DMs. Characters will start at the same level as the rest of the party (currently 4), and more or less anything official is on the table plus any homebrew I have pre-built in Beyond. If something doesn't fit naturally, I will work with you to either make it fit or figure out an option that does.

The current party

We are currently looking for a player of any experience level. Everyone is welcome! Current party composition (Level 7): Forest Gnome Circle of the Shepherd Druid Zariel Tiefling Architect of Ruin Illrigger Wyrd Gnome Wild Magic Sorcery Sorcerer High Elf Great Old One Patron Warlock Tabaxi Way of the Drunken Master Monk

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a mic for voice chat, as well as a Discord account. D&D Beyond is preferred for creating characters, but I will also accept other forms of character sheet and will manually create the character under my own account if necessary (I will need to do so to import into Foundry). If you have an already-created character you wish to bring in, I need to review it before we begin so I can make sure it fits with the game.

What DM Dan brings to the table

I will share content on D&D Beyond with the group, as well as access to Foundry for when we play. In-game, I generally provide music, do character voices (within reason for my vocal range), and stick fairly close to Rules as Written (with a couple minor exceptions). That said, I'm happy to work with you if you have a cool idea that isn't too far out there, and we can make a ruling in the moment.

Homebrew rules

The only notable homebrew rule I use is that anyone can attempt to use any spell scroll, but if you can't normally use it and fail a check, a mishap may occur.

How DM Dan creates a safe table

At any time if you need to bring up something happening that is a problem for you, let me know however you are comfortable with (Discord DM, in-game chat, verbally, etc). In session 0, we can go over anything that is a hard no or any other details.
