The Necropolis - A Call of Cthulhu Demo
Call of Cthulhu | One-Shot
About the adventure
It is 1924 and you find yourself on an archeological dig in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. Just a couple of years ago, Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Pharoah Tutankhamen, or King Tut as the papers called him. Carter instantly skyrocketed to international acclaim; why shouldn't you be next? Plenty of things are under the sands, just waiting to be discovered... --- The Necropolis is a classic Call of Cthulhu demo scenario. Whether this is your first time playing, or you're a Call of Cthulhu veteran, join us for a night of roleplay and collaborative storytelling! Pre-generated characters will be provided so we can jump right into the fun after a brief overview of the rules with more explained during play. I'm a strong believer that the best way to learn a game is by playing, so let's play!
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Knows the Rules
A rule of cool leaning GM who likes player creativity and doesn’t mind revising things on the fly to benefit the story that is unfolding. Knows the scenario inside out so they aren’t pausing to read things in the background in real time, but are present and active. Takes good notes so they can summarize well, and does little extra things to help players keep things straight like writing out the names of NPCs in the chat window. I will happily play in another of their games in the future.
Wonderful experience. Was patient with me learning the game, and roll20. Had a strong understanding of the rules, and kept the game moving, and entertaining. I would have easily paid double for what he charged for his game. I currently follow him on this site, and can't wait for the next game.

How to prepare
Players should have a Discord and Roll20 account prior to the game. Links will be sent to join a Discord Server and the Roll20 game session. All players need mics...and that's it! If there are any questions send me a message on Discord or here on StartPlaying!
What I provide
The game will utilize the virtual tabletop Roll20, it requires players to make a free account prior to the game. It will be used for characters sheets, rolls, visuals, ambient music, and handouts. All rules will be taught before and during play. No experience necessary and you do not need to read any rules before showing up.
