About me
I have been consistently running reasonably priced weekly D&D 5E sessions (all set in the 5th Age multiverse shared setting) for over 3 years now. In each game, the players' characters drive the story, and experience the 5th Age universe shared by all my groups at a time where momentous events are occurring. Their actions can resonate and change the events around them, as well as affect what the other groups may be exposed to. I maintain a detailed rules wiki to make sure that all characters' action resolutions are resolved the same way. The home rules we use emphasize grits, tactics and a bit of medieval realism . There is no better feelings than those of players overcoming challenges together with creative solutions done within the rules and that will generate shared moments they will remember forever! In all these games, I want my players to build up their characters to reach level 20 and beyond and make their name as famous as those of Drizzt, Catti-Brie, Tasha, Elminster or Bryce Feelid! The 5th Age awaits for a new generation of heroes!

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Knows the Rules
World Builder
Storytelling
I have tried playing with DOZENS of other DMs from StartPlaying and even began DMing myself, but Grisix truly outshines them all. His DM style has served as a huge source of inspiration for me to the point that I'm taking part in 3 of his weekly sessions. His storylines are fantastic and thought provoking, and every session is a challenge as we try to figure out what we need to do next. Creativity of course, is always rewarded too. If you have suggestions about how things can improve he is always willing to take your opinion into consideration as well. There are numerous things over my year of playing with Grisix that have changed based on player feedback.
This was my first major group to play with (outside of learning recently with my friends), and this GM has been incredibly patient and understanding with taking the time to make sure that I've had any questions answered, and any confusion about rules/roles/items/styles/etc. to be settled and put to rest. He's not only been helpful in-game, but he's been great out-of-game as well and has been available any time I had a question/concern even outside of our scheduled game times. I highly recommend him for new players that are concerned with feeling comfortable and welcomed with a group.
I've been playing in this campaign for over 2 years now. I thoroughly enjoy the game and game nights are the highlight of my week. DmGrisix's games are challenging but rewarding. He creates a real sense of adventure and danger in his world. While many DMs might not worry about things like daily rations, navigating in travel, or having climate appropriate clothing, these are all things you need to consider in his game. The result is a more realistic style of adventure where surprises and challenges lurk around every corner.
Character creation
Creating your character
Our session zero must be done and your character should be created before the start of your first session, to respect the other players' gaming time. Session zero allows us to make sure the tech works for you, troubleshoot any issues, do a dry run of using the online game table, and discuss details of your character's background. It usually takes one hour or so (free of charges). Character creation use the standard array generation method. All races and classes in official 5E content is allowed. You can read more about the character building rules on my wiki at https://homerules.obsidianportal.com/wikis/character-building

How DMGrisix creates a safe table
Note that all my groups are playing in the same universe, defined by the 5th Age moniker. When a character is created in this universe, the player will chose how to make them affect the world around for as long as they keep playing their characters. A character will become a NPC with the history they have played if a player decides to abandon their character or leave the campaign. Characters are not dropped in randomly in the middle of dungeons and I do not do one-off games in that context, I only run games connected to the 5th Age campaign. The groups may be in different worlds, planes or timelines but they all exist within the same multiverse, and follow all the same rules, both for building their characters and for playing the game.
