When a Star Falls | Quests from the Infinite Staircase
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Welcome and please come with us as we proceed through a fun, challenging series of original 1980's modules that has been rewritten for the latest Dungeons and Dragons in "Quests from the Infinite Staircase". I ran many of these like 40 years ago when I was a kid, so I have been really enjoying this experience, with fresh players' perspectives, as an adult. We are concluding our appraisal of the peoples above the Lost City (the first module was level 1 to 4). We will be spending some time with our sponsor, Nafas (I'd love to let you meet this Noble Djinn!) at his residence, a vast, floating Aeolian style Palace, the "Censer of Dreams". He plans to show us another door on the Infinite Staircase (through infinite doors into infinite worlds...) that will bring us close enough to assist with another interplanar plea for help. That is of course after we relax and let ourselves be regaled by stories from around the multiverse for a bit... We are currently 4th level and will be 6th by the conclusion of the next module, beginning soon, called "When a Star Falls". We would love to have another 1-3 players join to complement the party! You are welcome to join for just a session, segment, module or more. It will typically be simple to bring your character in. If you find us to be a good match, our plan (so far) is to get through level 20 together. Scheduling has been a challenge for some we have lost on our journey, and we'd love to have you join us!
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
We plan to be working our way up to 10th level with Nafas as our Patron, doing a variety of shorts. Don't let that stop you from joining, we can do one or many together. Vecna Eve of Ruin will lead us to our conclusion after Level 20!! Currently up to Lvl 4 characters and about to start the next short module with Nafas, our Noble Djinn sponsor at his palace, the "Censer of Dreams". This module concludes with a Dragon! I cannot wait, as that will be a super fun and challenging encounter for the party!

How to prepare
Please have a decent Mic and headphones to reduce background noises. We will need free Discord and free DnD Beyond accounts.
What I provide
You will have access to my DnD Beyond content. While I do enjoy some published content, I try not to railroad players into things. If you'd like to go in other directions, just let me know. Preferably in advance! I do enjoy using some voices or accents here and there but not always. Typically, rules as written but the rule of cool can be fun at the right times. I don't use music as it distracts me too much. My apologies, but I'm sure you can figure out a way to plug some in for yourself if needed.
Gameplay details
We will discuss and set expectations during a quick pregame session. We can also review safety tools.
