How to prepare

To ensure that everyone has the best experience possible, here are a few simple requirements for joining our games: -Computing Device: Please use a computer (laptops or desktops) as Foundry VTT, our virtual tabletop platform, does not currently support mobile devices like tablets or phones. This will help ensure that the game runs smoothly and everyone can fully engage with all features. -Internet Connection: A stable and reliable internet connection is crucial. This will help in maintaining continuous gameplay without interruptions. -Web Browser: Access our game sessions through any modern web browser installed on your computer. This is where you'll log into Foundry VTT to join the fun. -DnDBeyond Account: Create a free account on DnDBeyond if you don’t already have one. This will give you access to necessary game materials and allow for seamless integration of D&D resources. Discord for Communication: -Discord Account: A free Discord account will be needed to communicate during our sessions. You can sign up easily if you haven't yet. -Microphone: Good audio is key for interaction, so please have a microphone ready. This could be through your phone if you choose to use the Discord mobile app, or via a built-in or external microphone on your computer. By preparing these elements, you'll be set to dive into our game world without a hitch.

Commitment to a Safe and Enjoyable Experience -Respectful Session Timing: All sessions are designed to never exceed 4 hours, unless there's unanimous agreement to extend. The adventure includes a 15-minute break to ensure comfort and focus. - Ongoing Communication: I believe in the power of feedback to create the best gaming experience. All players are welcome to message me privately if they are experiencing any issues. If I detect any hint of discomfort or disconnect, I will reach out privately to check in. - Handling Boundaries with Care: We treat each other with respect, and any breach of established boundaries is taken seriously. Minor issues may result in a brief timeout for reflection, while significant or repeated breaches might lead to a group discussion regarding potential removal from the adventure. Your comfort and safety are my top priorities. - Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: There is absolutely no tolerance for out-of-character discrimination or hate speech. This includes racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and any form of sexual violence. How will character creation work

Character creation will need to occur in DnD Beyond prior to game start time. If you do not have a DnD Beyond account, you may create one for free at dndbeyond.com. Upon joining the adventure, you will be sent a welcome email that will include a DnD Beyond Campaign link; please join the campaign so that I can properly view your character sheet. All characters will be Level 7 for this adventure. Character Preferences - Sources: Please disable Homebrew, we will be favoring 2014 rules over 2024 for the sake of automation within Foundry. - Partnered Content: You may use Critical Role character and class options, otherwise please disable any other Partnered Content for this one-shot. - Dice Rolling: Whatever you like. We will be rolling within the Foundry VTT for this adventure but I will have the Beyond 20 module enabled if you prefer to roll in DDB. - Optional Features: I personally love these and welcome them, but they can be a bit overwhelming for newcomers. Up to you. - Advancement Type: N/A - Hit Point Type: Fixed is easiest for one-shots, but you may manually roll if you're fine with sending me proof of your rolls prior to game time. - Use Prerequisites: Yes to both. - Show Level-Scaled Spells: Up to you. - Encumbrance Type: Disable for one-shots. - Ignore Coin Weight: N/A - Character Privacy: PUBLIC. This is extremely important as its how I import your character over from DnD Beyond into Foundry VTT. Standard Array will be used for stats to ensure quick building and ease of balance.
