Witchlight Carnival and Beyond - {2024}

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

COME ONE! COME ALL! TO THE WITCHLIGHT CAR-NI-VALLL!!!! Join your companions on a journey to a carnival that swallows you up and send you through to another realm. Everything seems topsy turvy in this chaotic adventure. With Harengon, Hag, and Bullywugs aplenty, there will never be a dull moment in the Feywild Session 0 and your first session is free. I love working with beginners and players of all levels. Come join me in exploring this fantastical adventure.

Game style

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Party notes

Thank you for your interest in the campaign. We have moved into the second Feywild area, Thither. The intrepid explorers are learning more about the Feywild and The Hourglass Coven. The party currently consists of: * Shifter Warlock * Human Monk * Dragonborn Paladin

I can't recommend Oliver enough, I really loved all of our sessions! The world-building is really immersive, filled with colourful characters and descriptions that make the game very engaging while allowing for a lot of fun roleplay. Lots of different and interesting directions for things to go. Always feels like a safe space where everyone is just there to have fun, (feedback is always welcome). As a newbie player myself this campaign has been a fantastic introduction to DnD.

Sir Oliver is a great DM who is easy to communicate with. He makes the setting come to life and does a good job getting every player involved. If you are a new player or a seasoned vet, I'd recommend this DM for your game!

Sir Oliver is a lovely man and a fantastic DM. He excels with pacing. He gently pushed us along when we'd get sidetracked with silliness. That isn't to say he doesn't allow silliness, because goodness, does he ever; he just knows how to rein it in and move forward. He was having fun with us, which was nice; a lot of DMs on Startplaying treat sessions like work they'd rather not be doing. Oliver is invested in all involved having a good time and makes it easy to relax and have fun. If you're on the fence with joining one of his games, jump on in. His grass really is greener than that other guy's, and it's been mowed recently, so it has that fresh grass smell.
