About the adventure

Inspired by Fromsoft games, particularly elements of Sekiro and Elden Ring. You are a band of immortal heroes whose immortality comes with a curse. Every time you revive, another life is taken in your stead, and the seed of a strange blight is planted. However, your party has come this far, and as you continue to fight off the army of darkness threatening your world, you've discovered a potential cure to the plague you spread. Scenes of your grand battles have become quarantined, forbidden lands. At least one major kingdom has banished you, despite your heroic deeds. You have grand powers and a boon from a powerful entity, yet it is offset by the threat of hurting others. How has immortality affected you? How has your immortal's plague affected you, and more importantly, the ones you love? The tone will be more hopeful than its inspirations, lol, but will still include a lot of dark elements! It is not grimdark - there is light. You will help decide elements of the setting - what were some of your party's biggest battles? Biggest regrets? Biggest accomplishments? How has your Plague affected the world?

About me

I'm a 31yo nonbinary artist whose passion lies in storytelling! The most important things to me in ttrpgs are fun, roleplay, and story (including player characters' backstories, not just plot). I've been DMing for about 10 years and playing D&D for about 15. I love homebrew and having the players add onto the setting with locations, plot hooks, NPCs, deities, whatever they (reasonably) want to add! New players always welcome! Being LGBTQ+ myself, obviously this table loves and welcomes LGBTQ+ players! Do not expect a rules lawyer here; the rules are here for me to use as a base, something to fall back on, but ultimately we're here to have fun and do cool things. Rules can and will be waived or bent in my games - but only in the favor of the players, never to try and put you at a disadvantage. I'm here to challenge the player characters and be their guide through the world they explore. Sure, the dice gods may demand a death every once in a blue moon, but I'm 100% the party's biggest fan. This is also a space for us to escape reality; my games DO NOT include racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. either in game or at the table. It will not be tolerated. Yes, that applies to things such as "monstrous" races and their societies. There is no "inherently evil" at my table. The most realistic evil you'll see at my table are capitalists, monarchies, and player characters' horrible families from their tragic backstories. Was a professional player in Hp2Xp and isFriday livestreamed games 'Adventures in Umbranthal' and 'Crypt of the Ruby Dragon,' as well as a recurring player in shows on GirlsRunTheseWorlds! Currently running a magical girl inspired FATE game, 'Auriga Stars,' there! (also: conversational in American Sign Language, sign isn't listed as a language here)

Alta is by far one of the best DMs I've had over many years of playing. Always makes sure everyone is seen and heard. The stories they tell are just so fun and amusing, but they also can pull on your heartstrings with serious and emotionally intense scenes. If you got time check them out and give them a shot

Mirage is so much fun to play with! They create colorful worlds and unique and evocative npcs that you will love or love to hate. They are enthusiastic in supporting thier player's stories and encouraging thier wild ideas.

Alta is hands down one of the best DM’s I have played with ever. They take story-telling to whole other level that really makes you part of it all. They take time and makes sure that everyone gets some special time for their character every session and will deal with whatever wacky bullshit your group may come up with. They have made my partner and I feel so welcome every time that we come to play. They have such a way with story telling that I get excited when they start to monologue about stuff, and the NPC’s are so lovable it’s unreal. You know when you’re supposed to fall in love with a character or when you’re supposed to find them fucking terrible, and they do an amazing job of writing out such characters. Every game is a different experience and I never know what’s going to happen, I’m always on the edge of my seat and I love it. Alta makes sure that everyone is having a good time and that everyone is comfortable with what’s happening, they allow a lot of room for player creativity and I appreciate that SO much as a player who’s very story/RP oriented. If you are searching for a DM to feed your deepest desires in that kinda way, Alta is someone you should consider. It was love from first game.

Altamirage has done an amazing job of creating worlds that feels alive, dynamic, and lived in. The storytelling is top notch, and they do a wonderful job of making the characters feel truly part of the world they inhabit. Alta also has some of the best NPC characters I've encountered so far. Just as importantly, Alta makes every player feel welcome at the table. If I'm ever looking to add an additional, I'll be checking to see what they are running first.

Alta does an amazing job at creating an interesting world with exciting lore and the most loveable NPCs. The NPC art alone is enough to make them an amazing DM Alta also makes sure every player feels included and enjoys their time as much as possible. This was my first D&D experience and they made sure to explain everything to me and help me along the way! You'll find yourself waiting for the next session and wishing it would come sooner

Altamirage made the table so welcoming and inclusive for all the players, including myself. You can tell they truly love these NPCs and the world itself which comes across in descriptions and roleplay. I absolutely loved our session 0/.5 and can't wait for more.

Character creation
Creating your character

DnDBeyond will be our main sheet source, as I have lots of books and can share in campaigns. Lv12, will provide details of equipment, etc in discord. Character creation will happen in discord pregame, BUT feel free to bring a character you already made before the game. <3

What to expect
Preparing for the session

All you NEED is a mic. Cameras are great because I love having visuals and it makes communication easier for me, but they are not required! Rules, character creation, etc will happen Session 0. Character sheets will be managed on DnDBeyond, maps will be on Roll20, and if you want to connect the two for easy rolls then I highly rec the extension Beyond20!

What Altamirage brings to the table

I provide plenty of sourcebooks to use via DnDBeyond. And visuals for the setting, drawn myself! You can also commission me to draw your character. (:

Safety
How Altamirage creates a safe table

Hard rules for all my games: NO racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, bigotry, etc. That includes fantasy versions (ie: "all orcs are born evil and therefore do x"). NO SA, noncon, torture, slavery. (Said things can be allowed, with approval, in PC backstories, and do exist in NPC backstories, but will not be directly mentioned or described) And... we're here to have fun!! <3 Will send a form pregame for lines/veils/etc. Will message to go over what kind of game everyone wants to play ("i hate puzzles" "i love combat" etc), touching base on things we don't want in the game, talking character dynamics, working on character sheets, explaining gameplay if new to D&D. After games, I usually chat (in call or in discord) with everyone and joke around - I always try to balance out the harsh with humor, and I check in with everyone after a rough session. X cards will be whatever you are most comfortable with. <3
