K'chensinq (Post-Apocalyptic Survival Fantasy Campaign) - Lv 3

K'chensinq (Post-Apocalyptic Survival Fantasy Campaign) - Lv 3

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

In this "post-apocalyptic punk" setting, you will play a survivor from a nomadic tribe. In the beginning your only goal will be to cope with the harsh realities of daily life in a magically decimated world. But in time, you will accomplish more as a bizarre story unfolds centered around the party. Whoever you are, wherever you came from...you are important to the fate of this world. You can play any species or class from 2014 D&D 5th Edition rules. In this campaign, any published 3rd party source material is allowed. Some backgrounds may not apply, but most of them should be fine. Message me about any you're unsure would work. Create a level 1 character and take 1 free common as well as 1 free uncommon magic item. Spend ALL your starting gold. You can't spend it in game. The setting has the following assumptions: 1. Most of society's knowledge has been lost. Anything your character knows or magical items you have acquired are precious remnants of the past. 2. The ENTIRE world is dangerous. There are no known safe spots. 3. Anything can happen. The wild magic zones introduce improbable new gifts and problems into the world constantly. 4. The Beebi Eeji is unknowable and unbeatable. Going to the Dark Citadel is a surefire way to lose your character. This is not a campaign where you beat him. This is a campaign where you survive, and try to make the rest of the world a better place while you can. Stay far away from the edge of the world. It holds only death. This setting is like if fallout or mad max had fantasy magic and monsters. *** They were supposed to be heroes. They said they were powerful enough to defeat the Beebi Eeji. They failed. Now all that's left of your planet are dead cities, mutant creatures, and wild magic zones where anything can happen. The Beebi Eeji reigns from his Dark Citadel at the edge of the world and his minions rove the wilderness seeking whom they may devour. It's been countless generations since the End, and this scared new world has no use for heroes. There is no defeating the Beebi Eeji now. He's won, the world is his. All you can do is survive. Welcome to K'chensinq. Very little is known about the past for certain. The End happened "countless generations" ago. Everyone agrees, at least 800 years ago because there are no elves still alive who remember the End. Some undead and constructs may be around that remember what happened, but certainly none of the PCs. Whatever the world was like before the End is mostly learned by exploring Dead Cities. All your people know for sure is some kind of immortal evil spellcaster called the Beebi Eeji irradiated the world with powerful magical artifacts that decimated the natural ecosystem and left pockets of "Wild Magic" at the epicenters of the blasts. Afterward, his minions (mostly undead and humanoid cultists, but a few powerful constructs too) swept over the world from the Dark Citadel, attempting to crush any survivors…as they are still doing to this day.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
