About the adventure
Life as you know it is under siege. The Death Curse is creeping across the land, no soul safe from it's grasp. No magic can raise the dead; and those resurrected are withering into lifeless husks, their bodies wasting away while their minds crumble under the Curse’s relentless pull. Worse, the souls of loved ones, comrades, and heroes slip into oblivion, severed from the afterlife. At the heart of this chaos lies Chult; a land of untamed jungles, ancient secrets, and relentless dangers. Rumor has it that the Soulmonger, an artifact of unimaginable power fuels the Curse. Will you face the dangers of Chult to save the lives tethered to your heart? ✨Seek the Truth: Find the Soulmonger and uncover the power driving it. Who would wield such devastation and why? ✨Survive the Wilds: Navigate deadly jungles swarming with dinosaurs, venomous plants, and restless undead. Chult tests your every step. ✨Claim Ancient Treasures: Explore forgotten temples, unearth powerful relics, and awaken gods long buried, or best left alone. ✨Defy the Odds: Endure deadly diseases, harsh terrain, and the horrors of the Tomb of the Nine Gods. Every choice determines your survival and the fate of countless lives. This isn’t just a mission; it’s personal. Every step is a chance to save those you love or to lose everything. Stand tall, and your name will become legend. Fail, and Chult will claim another victim.

About me
Hey there! I'm Avelaitixa (but you can call me Avel). I've been weaving stories and leading adventures for over 5 years alongside my husband Hawk. Whether you're interrogating political allies, sailing the high seas in search of lost treasures, or battling dark forces in forgotten dungeons, I love creating immersive, exciting, and player-driven worlds that pull you in and let your imagination run wild.

Creating your character
1. Starting Level: Characters begin at Level 5, ready to embark on the perilous journey to Chult. 2. Ability Scores: Use one of the following methods: - Point Buy (27 points). - Manual/Rolled (Rolled in your Player Channel in Discord) 3. Allowed Content: All official Dungeons & Dragons 5E material is permitted. Unearthed Arcana or third-party content requires DM approval. 4. Races and Classes: Any officially published races and classes are allowed. Chultan characters or backgrounds tied to the region (e.g., locals, explorers) are welcome but not required. 5. Backgrounds: Choose a background that fits your character's story. Custom backgrounds are welcome with DM approval. Consider ties to Chult (e.g., mercenaries, scholars, or treasure hunters) to deepen the narrative. 6. Equipment: Use standard starting equipment based on your class and background. No additional items or gold unless specified. 7. Character Backstory: Meaningful backstories are welcome. I can help you with ideas if needed. If possible, include at least one goal or motivation to help integrate your character into the story. 8. Additional Notes: Be prepared for a challenging adventure. Your character will face survival mechanics, disease, and the risk of death. If your character dies, you’ll have the chance to roll a new one and rejoin the story.
Current Party Composition: - Tabaxi Ranger 1/Monk 4 (Way of the Long Death) - Dwarf Barbarian 5 (Path of the World Tree) - Satyr Sorcerer 5 (Clockwork) - Tabaxi Artificer 1/Gunslinger 4 (Deadeye) - Aasimar Wizard 5 (Abjurer) Current Status: - The party is currently level 5, and has recently arrived in Omu, an ancient lost city in the jungle where the mysterious artifact called the SoulMonger is located. They have engaged the druid Qawasha as a guide, and have uncovered clues about the nature of the curse. This is about midway through the adventure, and a great time to integrate in for anyone interested in the mid-tier of this adventure! What is Asynchronous Play-by-Post? - Asynchronous Play-by-Post (PBP) is a flexible and immersive way to play Dungeons & Dragons online, perfect for busy schedules and creative storytelling. Here’s how it works: How It Works - No Set Schedule: Instead of meeting at a specific time, players post their character's actions, dialogue, and thoughts in a Discord channel whenever they’re available. - Side-Based Play: In combat or structured events, we’ll take turns based on initiative, ensuring everyone has a chance to contribute as their schedule allows. Outside of combat, the narrative flows naturally as characters interact. - Collaborative Storytelling: Posts are more descriptive and allow for deep roleplay, creative writing, and vivid storytelling. Why Asynchronous Play-by-Post? - Flexibility: Post when you can - there’s no need to commit to long, scheduled sessions. - Immersion: Dive deep into your character’s thoughts, backstory, and interactions with others. - Creative Freedom: With more time to craft your posts, you can focus on rich descriptions and meaningful choices. - Community: Build strong bonds with fellow players through engaging dialogue and collaborative problem-solving. PBP offers a slower-paced but equally exciting way to experience D&D. Whether you’re sneaking through an undead-infested ruin or negotiating with Chultan merchant princes, the adventure is always waiting for you.
