About the adventure
Welcome to the Frontier. A weird west adventure that will follow the lives of vagrants, thieves, and the occassional hero as they make a life for themselves in the Barrens. A land contested by the claims of humans and the cities of what humans call monsters. Relying on the expanded lore from Keith Baker's new Frontiers of Eberron text, this will be an adventure driven entirely by the player characters. There's one hundred reasons why someone would move west, and I will be writing an original campaign that suits the goals and motives of each of our heroes. Perhaps you will uncover the lost secrets of the Barrens, battle with the gangs of brigands and war clans, possibly even make peaceful contact with one of the monster cities where mind flayers and medusas rule as kings. The Frontier and all of it's mysteries await!

About me
4 years ago I joined the Start Playing community, 100+ positive reviews later I feel I've found the place where I belong. Today I run a full weekly schedule of games for a variety of different players. I do corporate events, summer camps, and online games all of which are entirely private. I would love to have you at the table, let's tell a great story together.

Sets the Mood
Dudley is one of the best DM's I have ever had the pleasure of playing with! His command of the story is superb. The space he provides for character development is incredible and super creative. Dudley is also incredible at doing different voices and playing different characters as he differentiates each encounter in such a unique way. I could not have asked for a better DM, and I urge every single one of you reading this review to play at least one game with him! (If you don't believe me, look at the amount of sessions I have played :D)
You know that amazing restaurant where you don't want to recommend it because then everyone will know how awesome it is and you won't be able to get a seat when you want? That's Dudley. I want everyone to get a chance to experience this great DM, and also I want to be sure I can get a seat in his games when I can! You want a unique one shot where your character influences the story? Choose Dudley. Want to learn about Eberron? Choose Dudley. Every session I've played has been a delight. Both Dudley as a DM and the community he's built - just a great way to experience communal story telling. Join a game, you won't regret it!
I have now played and finished 4 adventure modules Dudley has run and play in two custom games and can tell you for certain that Dudley is a legendary DM. Perfect mood setting music, custom maps, voice acting, and everything you need to immerse yourself in as a role player or even a combat junky with his fluid combat encounters! All the while utilizing safety tools from session 0. Dudley is one of the best DMS I have ever had to pleasure to roleplay with and there is a reason I have played so many campaigns run by him. 10/10 will recommend to any players of any skill level.
Dudley was fantastic! The energy level for our game was great, with his fun and engaging music really boosting the already creative and cool storyline. He was super helpful with explaining differences in concepts and helping us with DnD Beyond tools. 10/10 would totally campaign with again :)
Dudley is a master storyteller. I've completed his campaigns of Strahd, Saltmarsh, Witchlight (made numerous visits to Sharn) and just begun Avernus and Dragonlance. What strikes me most about this GM is his generous and collaborative way of crafting a narrative. He is the kind of GM that takes your character concept to heart, and strives to weave your idea into the grander story arc. By the time the campaign has completed, the feeling is like coming to the satisfying conclusion of a great novel - one that is hard to close, as the characters and their collective journeys have left an indelible impression on the creative spirit.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will happen largely before the campaign begins, but adjustments and finishing touches will be applied during session 0. We begin at level 3 with one uncommon magic item
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a microphone and a camera is a plus but not necessary. You will need a free D&D Beyond account and a free Discord account.
What Dudley brings to the table
I am a theatre of the mind GM so no VTT, but I will have content share active on my D&D Beyond. I use a music bot to set the mood and tend to lean towards the rule of cool. Combat will likely be brief and brutal, in the West there are only the quick and the dead.
Homebrew rules
No country for old minotaurs: Death Saves automatically fail. A creature instantly dies if they suffer 10 points of damage from a single attack while at 0 hit points.

How Dudley creates a safe table
Session 0 will be used to discuss content warnings and player character backstory. We will do a 5 minute break in the middle of the session. Once the session ends I'll ask the group how everyone is feeling and if there was anything that felt too intense or needs to change.
