About the adventure
The ruined city of Drakkenheim, corrupted by dark magic and rife with both treasure and monsters, awaits! Dungeons of Drakkenheim is an urban hexcrawl adventure contained largely to the city of Drakkenheim and its immediate environs. You'll face all manner of factional conflict over the city's future, brawling with strange mutated creatures, confronting the darkness in the heart of humanity, and ultimately, just how much you're willing to sacrifice to achieve your own goals. Forth, into darkness! This campaign is designed for a party of four to six adventurers, and will take you from level 3 to 12+. The fate of Drakkenheim is yours to decide. Whether you turn things over to rationale and logic, burn it all down, begin anew, or seek to rule over a new empire of law or lawlessness, you will find allies and enemies waiting for you in the ruins. How will the city and the realm of Westemär fare? Only you can decide! 🌟 𝑼𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒘𝒍 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 🌟 ⚔️ 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒕: Medium ✨ 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈: Medium 🌀 𝑫𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒚: High 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 𝑩𝒖𝒚-𝒊𝒏: The Dungeons of Drakkenheim are ideal for a party who enter a campaign with goals of their own. The campaign primer will provide opportunities for you to select those goals, but it is upon you as players to enact them. Much of the story of Drakkenheim is player-driven, with the five major factions acting as allies, enemies, or something in between as a result of your choices, and the story of Drakkenheim changing remarkably depending on your actions. There is no set ending, here - only a story that you weave! 🏳️🌈 📑 I prioritize a safe table for you and your party, and aim to create a fantasy setting that does not rely on bigotry to create fantastic and exciting experiences.

About me
Greetings and warm wishes, adventurers! Whether you are a bold and hearty hero looking for a fantastical adventure or a clever and cunning scoundrel who just wants to do the job, get paid, and go home, you'll find your place at my table. My name is Craig (he/him), and I've been a game master for more than half of my life. I grew up with my dad telling me all sorts of fantastical stories as a kid, and from there, I only delved deeper. I've run games professionally for a decade now, and have told stories for veterans, new players, and everything in between. When it comes to my philosophy on games, I hold three ideals above all else: 💙 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 The tabletop scene is one shared across a variety of lives and experiences. It doesn't belong to any one group, and we must all look after one another and cultivate our community to make it expansive, welcoming, and safe! 🎉 𝐅𝐮𝐧 Laughter is a universal language. Sharing moments of joy, sorrow, exhiliration, anger, and passion together lets us create memories that last lifetimes! Plus, telling dumb jokes is a fantastic way to blow off steam. I want my table to always be a place you can come to in order to have a good time. ✨ 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 Lifelong learning means that the world never grows stale and rote. Following new stories and opening yourself up to new ideas gives you the opportunity to grow, and see the world through someone else's eyes. Yes, it's important to feel comfortable and safe and happy, but sometimes, it's also important to feel a little uncomfortable in order to grow! If you only have the same experiences day after day, then your life will flash right by, and if I can help you avoid that, I'd love to do so. If all of this sounds like it's up your alley, then come on by, grab some dice, and join me for a rollicking and memorable adventure! No matter what your system of choice is, as long as you bring a good attitude and respect for your fellow players, then you'll find a home here. See you at the table!

Creating your character
Character creation will be discussed in-depth during Session Zero and in the group Discord beforehand. Access to both a DnDBeyond campaign and Roll20 campaign for character creation will be provided when you join the game, and you can feel free to discuss character concepts in the group Discord ahead of time. I strongly suggest that you not completely finalize character creation until after it has been discussed during Session Zero, as after discussing it with the party, you may wish to make some alterations to better fit into the party's identity and goals. 🗡️ Characters will start at 3rd level. 🗡️ 27 Point-Buy for stats, not rolled. 🗡️ Averages for HP instead of rolling. Further prep materials will be provided to you once you're signed up for the campaign, to give you a more in-depth look at just how character-building works. I offer several additional perks for new characters to help you create the character of your dreams!
Join us every Tuesday in the midst of the dread city of Drakkenheim! This contaminated and dangerous ruin of a city is filled to the brim with monsters, treasure, and the deadliest encounters you can shake a stick at. If you're looking for a classic old-school dungeon crawl experience complete with all the danger and challenge that means, you've found it here. Your character will begin at level 4, and I'll work directly with you through the setting to make sure you have a proper hook into the world and the party. While roleplay and storytelling are an important part of the narrative, this particular group leans towards taking action, combat, solving problems (often with violence), and focusing on the broader narrative rather than as much on individual character scenes and stories. If you like the idea of adventure and excitement taking the forefront, then we would love to have you at our table! The Party: 🔹 Dragonborn Elemental Monk 🔹 Kenku Scribe Wizard 🔹 Goliath Bladesinger Wizard/Fighter 🔹 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘉𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Voice and video communication will be run through Discord, with Roll20 or DnDBeyond used for character creation, and Roll20 for battlemaps, visual aids, and dice rolling. You are not obligated to use video, but I will mostly be running with my video on. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅: 🗡️ 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒔𝒆𝒕, and remain on push-to-talk or otherwise mute yourself between speaking if you expect to have disruptive background noise. 🗡️ 𝑱𝒐𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒓. 🗡️ 𝑱𝒐𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒏𝑫𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒍20 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆.

How Craig Chapman creates a safe table
𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔: Dungeons of Drakkenheim contains a huge variety of content, and, more than many adventures, is heavily player driven. The type of content that players encounter and the way that players encounter it is largely up to the players to determine, meaning that while many content warnings are listed, these are only possibilities - not guarantees. Some other content may be encountered depending on player choices, but there will always be options to either reject this content, or skip past it and leave it veiled. Session 0 will help to determine more of what will be or will not be encountered. 𝑮𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚: I run a script-heavy Roll20 game with plenty of visual aids and handouts, and will (usually) post most of these to a group Discord as well. Dynamic lighting, scripts to improve the accessibility and quality of your game, and macros to make every element of the game as simple as possible are all elements that I offer. These elements can be disabled upon request, if there are issues with lag or concerns about usability. 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝑾𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚: We will use Roll20 as a virtual table-top (VTT) for gameplay and dice-rolling, and Discord for voice and (optional) video. I will use a camera, but you are not required to do so unless you want to. I use music bots in Discord for audio and ambience, but can also use Syrinscape upon request. I will have Discord open at all times on a separate monitor, so if you want to ask me any questions or have concerns about the gameplay, you can message me either straight through Roll20 or through Discord. I am also available throughout the week (excluding Saturdays) to help troubleshoot any tech issues or character questions, to a reasonable extent. 𝑺𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 & 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒚: Prior to our Session Zero, I will make sure everyone has a copy of the consent checklist to fill out, so that I can note during our conversation what matters are off-limits, and give you some anonymity if you want it. Our Session Zero will cover campaign direction and themes, the main elements of the campaign, preferred style of play and difficulty, content warnings and safety concerns, character creation guidelines, party integration, player etiquette, and house rules. If there are any other elements you'd like to discuss, please feel free to bring them up with me ahead of time, and I will discuss with you as to whether or not we should include them in our conversation.
