About the adventure
"You crouch behind a tall, humming machine with panels flashing random bright colors, their mysterious purpose only a faint worry in the back of your mind. The air in this facility tingles with a strange electric buzz, making the hair on your arms stand on end, and your heart beats hard in your chest as the floor trembles beneath thunderous steps. Just a few feet away, the massive clawed foot of an allosaurus crashes down. The dinosaur's snout falls, sniffing the air, you're close enough to see the hot air rising from its nostrils. There's nowhere to run, and you're muttering prayers to your Maker- when out of the corner of your eye, you spot your fellow survivor...!" Escape from Dino Island is a thriller adventure roleplaying game where you play intrepid survivors trapped on an island overrun by creatures of a lost age - dinosaurs! Will you escape with your life? And if you do survive this ordeal, what kind of person will you become?

Hello!! I'm Duckling! I'm a 24 year old writer with a lot of free time and TTRPG experience on my hands. I love roleplaying and exploring immersive worlds. I started playing DND 5e when it was being playtested in 2012 and I've pretty much been stuck on tabletop games ever since. I'll be running Play by Post DND and occasional rules-lite games, hopefully resulting in unforgettable experiences for myself and my players! I'm very excited!

Character creation will be done during Session Zero. As a Powered By the Apocalypse system, the story for the game is far from set in stone and we will spend the beginning part of the game putting together the major pieces.

What Ugly Duckling brings to the table
I will provide a Discord channel, resources for character sheets and everything necessary to facilitate the game. My agenda as the 'Dino Master' will be to: -make Dinosaur Island dangerous, mysterious, and full of different dinosaurs -challenge the Heroes to become more truer selves -play to find out who makes it off the island, and how they'll be changed if they do

How Ugly Duckling creates a safe table
The characters in this game are brave and competent but fundamentally normal people that are in way over their heads. The game is supposed to be action packed but rarely is 'fighting' going to be the best course of action, roleplaying and descriptive writing will be a major focus. Jurassic Park and King Kong are obvious inspirations for this game but it also has touchstones in other mystery thrillers like LOST, Half-Life, or WestWorld.
