About the adventure

Step into the shadowy realms of Barovia one final time, where the mists part to reveal a land shrouded in eternal night and ruled by a tyrant who thirsts for more than just blood. In Curse of Strahd: The Last Bite, you will face the ultimate challenge—one that brings together every lesson learned from hundreds of ventures into this dark and cursed land. This is the final chapter, where every decision echoes with the weight of fate, and the stakes are higher than they have ever been. The setting is the foreboding domain of Castle Ravenloft, perched atop jagged cliffs, overlooking a land where hope is a fleeting memory. Barovia is a place where the sun dares not shine, and where the shadows hold secrets darker than the night itself. The theme of this campaign revolves around the eternal struggle between light and darkness, with an emphasis on redemption, finality, and the cost of power. This is not just another journey through the mists; it is the culmination of countless tales, where the past haunts every corner, and the future teeters on the edge of a blade. As a Dungeon Master, I delight in weaving intricate stories that draw on the rich, gothic horror of Curse of Strahd. I thrive on the tension between character-driven narratives and epic, climactic battles. This campaign is designed for those who relish deep, immersive roleplay and the thrill of facing insurmountable odds. Expect a game filled with twists, moral dilemmas, and a relentless sense of impending doom. Every session will be a dance with the devil himself, where your choices will determine whether Barovia is freed from its curse or condemned to eternal darkness. This is my magnum opus, a campaign for veterans of Curse of Strahd who seek one last, unforgettable adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned hero returning for a final confrontation or a newcomer eager to experience the legend, Curse of Strahd: The Last Bite will challenge your courage, test your resolve, and leave a lasting mark on your soul. The night is darkest before the dawn—will you be the ones to bring light back to Barovia, or will you succumb to the curse of strahd?

About me

Hello hello! If you are here then you might be thinking of playing one in one of my games. I really appreciate your consideration so why don't I tell you a bit about myself? My name is Originalname but my friends call me Ori or Original. I have been playing D&D and other tabletop rpgs for 5 years while I have been Dming for 4 years, I pride myself on the fact that all my players have had fun in my campaigns, be it because the tone and atmosphere were really engaging or just because we have had a lot of fun due to the myriad of shenanigans the players are able to pull. I love dming and I have dmed for both newcomers and veterans from the Advanced Dungeon & Dragons era, I like to think that it's never late to learn how to play D&D while I also enjoy challenging both the dice andingenuity of my players. If you are paying for Dming services, you should be getting the best of the best and that's why i will give it my all to make every session special and fun for my players.

Boy howdy. My original long running group fell apart - life happens - and I had just brought a new character into the campaign. I’d been planning the character for so long and was very disappointed that I only got one session in with him. I came here looking for a campaign to drop him in and found Ori. To say that I couldn’t have foreseen a better outcome for my character would be an understatement. Ori helped me achieve goals that I’ve had in this game for the longest time. Good gameplay, very knowledgeable, very fair, and overall a pretty stinkin cool chap. 5/5 would recommend and I will definitely be dropping into another game. Hats off Ori, thank you for everything!

A fun start to the campaign! Original did a wonderful job setting the environment of Barovia with choice music and wonderful choices of phrase to imply potential dangers. When we got into combat, we had a fun taste of what Barovia will offer with great cinematic flavoring from Original. A wonderful start, and I can't wait for next week! --------- Update: I am now 12+ sessions into the campaign and I am absolutely thrilled with Original's DM style, a great mix of fun and ominous. Combat is somehow incredibly balanced despite our wacky collage of abilities. An absolute joy to play each week.

Original understands the core idea of what D&D is to many people, which is to get a group of people together and just have fun. He is very good at reading the players that he has in his games and adjusting play so that everyone has a great time. I have played in quite a few games on SPG and right now this version of Curse of Strahd has to be my favorite so far. I would definitely recommend this GM to any of my friends.

Ori is fantastic at setting the scene and then letting us decide how to solve whatever is put in front of us. I've never once felt railroaded and as long as there's rules for it, he'll let you do anything that you can think of. His fights are dynamic and he's very good at dialing in the difficulty to make it feel like you're overcoming whatever he's thrown at you. And character customization? His rule is that if it's in the rules, go ahead and do it, not matter how nasty of a combination of mechanics that you come up with. When my current campaign is over with him I plan on immediately picking up another with Ori.

Creating your character

Character Concept Discussion: Before the campaign begins, I encourage players to brainstorm character concepts. This can include their character's race, class, background, and general personality traits. This can be done privately or as a group discussion to ensure party cohesion. Session 0: In our Session 0, we will review the characters and their backstories, ensuring they are integrated into the campaign's narrative. This is also an opportunity for players to discuss any character connections or plot hooks they'd like to explore.

How Originalname creates a safe table

Given the dark and intense nature of Curse of Strahd: The Last Bite, ensuring everyone’s comfort and safety is crucial. Before we begin, I will send out a link to our Lines and Veils document. This allows each player to anonymously indicate topics they wish to avoid entirely (Lines) and those they would prefer to be handled with care (Veils). This document helps me craft a campaign that is thrilling but respectful of everyone's boundaries. During Session 0, we will discuss these safety tools in detail, including the Lines and Veils that have been set. We'll also go over our use of the X, N, and O cards, which allow players to communicate their comfort levels during play. These cards are accessible digitally through our virtual tabletop or can be sent via private message. The X card allows a player to pause the game and remove any content that crosses a boundary, the N card signals discomfort with the current situation but willingness to proceed with caution, and the O card gives a thumbs up to continue as is. After each session, we'll have a brief aftercare period where we can decompress and talk about any intense moments or emotions stirred during play. This check-in is designed to ensure that everyone feels good about the experience and is ready for the next session. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment where we can fully immerse ourselves in the dark, gothic atmosphere of Barovia while ensuring that everyone feels respected and supported. This campaign is for those who seek one final, unforgettable adventure in the cursed lands of Barovia. Together, we’ll delve into the heart of darkness, knowing that we have the tools and support to navigate the shadows safely.
