Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello there! I'm Brian. I've been playing TTRPGs on and off for over 30 years. My first ever TTRPG experience was as a DM in a game that I wrote for my brother and cousin when I was 18. I've played and run many games in several systems since then, usually as the GM. I am the typical "Forever GM", and I love it! I enjoy story-focused games with lots of roleplay and combat. I do my best to make sure no one feels left out, giving everyone their time in the spotlight. Systems and titles I offer games in: Dungeons & Dragons 5e - Spelljammer - Planescape - Homebrew Marvel Multiverse RPG Lancer Savage Worlds I run an open and inclusive table; all are welcome. I am neuro-divergent friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly, and beginner friendly. I am physically disabled and neurodivergent, myself, and I know what it's like to deal with adversity; I can relate. I have a background in broadcasting and media production and like to incorporate what I've learned through my career in my games, including detailed maps, atmospheric music, voices, and focus on presentation and a good time for all involved. So come adventure with me! Bookings are open now.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done before or during Session Zero. Feats allowed, fixed HP, experience-based progression. Character stats must be either standard array or point-buy.
Session Zero is included in first session payment!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players need a Discord account, Roll20 account and D&DBeyond account. Fortunately, all these are free for players! Players also need a decent microphone. If you feel comfortable creating a character, feel free to do so before Session Zero. If you need help building your character, I'm here for you! It is understood that all players will have read at least the Player's Handbook at some point. If not, please do so. It is freely available on the internet.
What Brian Allen brings to the table
The game will be hosted via Discord, Roll20 for maps, and D&DBeyond for character management. I have the game material and will share it. Environment-wise, I use background music. I encourage roleplay and reward it, but I don't require anyone to do an accent or voice. I know how awkward roleplay can feel, especially if you're new to the hobby. I, however, do ATTEMPT voices and accents, so be ready to laugh at me. Being a beginner-friendly DM, I understand how intimidating the game can be to newer players. Don't worry, I'm patient and happy to help. I am not a Rule-Of-Cool DM, though I will sometimes consider bending the rules if something impresses me.

How Brian Allen creates a safe table
We start with Session Zero to go over rules and expectations and discuss triggers and sensitive subjects that should be avoided. I have an open door policy, any and all issues can be brought to me at anytime via direct message. If at any time someone feels uncomfortable with subject matter, they are encouraged to notify me immediately.
