New review

Justin is an awesome GM, I love his story 'hooks' and 'plots' and I love the voices he puts onto NPC characters (some send chills down your spine !!) I very much enjoy being part of Justin's Cyberpunk game

Justin is great at making sure every player has their own piece of the story, working with us to build our characters, and adapting to our crazy ideas

Really solid knowledge of mechanics, great npcs, and absolutely wild (in a good way) combat

i’m a first time player so i’m constantly asking “hey can i do ____?” he’s been very patient with my lack of knowledge while allowing me to squeeze my personality into the game rules. good scene setter, mood setting playlist maker, and allows for musical input from players.

Justin is great at weaving a universe together and allowing for player intrigue and improv.

Additional details

How to prepare

Webcam and/or Mic are required as we will be playing over Discord. The Beyond20 browser extension will be needed if you do not own physical dice. If you DO own physical dice then make sure you can either take photos of your results (really only in the beginning and/or for Critical hits) or have a webcam setup to where you can confirm your rolls. Physical character sheets aren't a requirement (and the editable PDF sheets will be accessible), but will be encouraged same with Notebooks. Character creation will be done during session Zero ideally but I would encourage players to have at least an idea of what you want to play and maybe some idea of a backstory if you aren't willing to roll for it. Since music is such a big thing in 2077, I ran a campaign where the players to pick 5 of their favorite songs (either current or All-time favs). This has been incredibly useful for helping players plan their PCs backstory as well as helpful for me planning with Gigs and backstory arcs..

What I provide

I will have both physical dice and Roll20 operating on the server, I will be making images of your characters (commissions are appreciated and the more the commission the more incentive) to start off for combat encounters post Session Zero with the intent for full character art shortly after depending on other factors. I am currently fairly maps lite right now so do not worry about needing maps of your own. I'll be using Photoshop to move characters and deleting enemies during combat as well.

Gameplay details

Players should expect a less than traditional take of the Dark Futures universe. While I aim to stay true to the world created, my GM style tends to lean more toward light-hearted comedy, but with characters/events that will still hit you right in your feels like any iteration of Cyberpunk would. Roleplay isn't expected to be a constant, but definitely encouraged and optimization isn't the priority. Having said that, expect a level of combat that feels like you are in the center of your favorite action movie/series/anime so while experts or intermediate players are encouraged, ALL levels of skill/expeirencel are welcome. Puzzles and Riddles are low but not non-existent, but it's usually more about worldbuilding and the mysteries around the setting. I welcome players of any skill level to my table so long as they are willing to be organized, flexible with their learning styles, and can work/get-along well with others.

How will character creation work

I'm still relatively new to the system but I figure we will start at starting level (i'm good with whichever build you choose to start in terms of Streetrat, Edgerunner, or Custom) and starting with a Session Zero to help make the characters and Lifepath stuff. This way all the players can coordinate their Roles and backstories with both me and each other.
