About the adventure
This campaign utilizes the Captain's Log rules for streamlined play. Creating characters is easy and creating ships is just as easy. Set in the final years of Captain Kirk's five-year mission, the 5th Fleet is assigned the border with the Tholians. Using the Star Fleet Universe (Star Fleet Battles and Prime Directive) as our inspiration, we'll weave the tales of crew and staff onboard powerful starships and massive starbases. Beginning on a single ship, each player will take the role of a department head. After some time, those characters have the opportunity to take command of the vessels of the 5th Fleet as the tensions between the Federation and the Tholians escalate and the Klingons and Romulans take advantage of a distracted Federation.

About me
Rules-lite RPGs are my passion. Collaborating with players to create background and backstory is what I enjoy most. Creating a great character-driven narrative that we will tell for years is my goal. My preference is for RPG systems that support the story and also allow for players to have the option to succeed at a cost, driving the story to a climactic finish where all those checks must be paid. RPGs work best when it's like a jazz ensemble, where the whole group plays together most of the time but everyone gets a chance to step forward for their solo from time to time. I've been running a lot of "legacy campaigns" lately, where the characters can have a profound impact on the game world in a short campaign. Then start a new campaign set a few years or decades in the future in that changed world, with some of the players coming back, while some new players may also join, with characters that may or may not be related to the previous campaign. I'm available for a custom session or campaign. I ask that, if you book a custom game, that the table be at least four players, even if one of those seats ends up being empty. Custom campaigns are offered at $11/seat, including a session 0 and at least 6 additional sessions. One-shots are offered at $16.50/seat. I can put together a quality one-shot in a few days if it's a system on my list. If it's not on my list, it may be similar to something I already know, please, feel free to ask.

Creating your character
You may create your character ahead of time. We reserve time at the beginning of every session for character creation. You may also create your character during play.
New players are welcome at any time we have available seats. When necessary, we create new characters at the beginning of a session. The style is rather episodic, so each session is somewhat self-contained while still being part of a larger story arc. We have in-character logs of our past sessions on our Discord if you should want to "catch up" with our past missions. Each player begins as a department head. The following departments are available: Navigation Tactical These departments already have players as department head: Communications Engineering Helm Medical Science Security We have a player in the role of Executive Officer. The captain is an NPC.

How Ukulele Mike creates a safe table
As a GM, my primary goal is to make sure that my players have fun. If there is ever anything that makes you uncomfortable in a "not fun" way, I want you to know that you can mention it in voice, message me in the chat, or message me privately. This is Star Trek, which deals with all sorts of societal ills, either head on or through allegory. If there is a topic which you'd prefer to avoid even in these formats, just let me know.
