About the adventure
This is intended for beginners first and foremost. Lost Mines of Phandelver is a classic introductory campaign to DnD and the newly launched "Shattered Obelisk" expands the story further. Experienced players are also of course welcome, but I hope and expect a level of comradery from the more experienced players to help the beginners find their way ;)

About me
I fell into the RPG pit during my first year at the Uni. I have been spiralling into it more and more ever since. First as a player and later hosting my own DnD and Cyberpunk campaings and one shots. I generally use premade campaigns as I don't really have the energy nor time to make my own world and places. But what I do tinker with is the actual story. Sometimes too much as I get carried away by own silly ideas, but so far the players have had fun either way!

Character creation
Creating your character
You can create the character on your own following the very helpful tutorials on DnD Beyond. But if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
A weekly Monday game played via Discord voice chat and Roll20, with DnDBeyond and Notion.so as supporting tools Characters will begin at level 1. To get started: Once you have booked the game; you'll get a discord server link to join We'll chat about character creation
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to create three accounts: DnDBeyond, Roll20 and Discord. Lastly OneNote for notekeeping this one shouldn't need an account. On DnDBeyond you should create your character which will then join a campaign on the same service. This is used by me to more easily manage encounters and other in-game events. Roll20 is for visualizing combat scenes and other points in the game where a clear top-down visualization of a location is needed. I also use this to showcase other relevant content, such as maps, etc. Discord will be used for the voice chat, sharing AI generated images and other updates during and out of game sessions. Lastly. Note keeping is essential for a succesful RPG game. Each session one of the players will be designated as the note keeper for that session. That player's extra job will be to mark down any relevant events from that session and update them to the communal OneNote afterwards. I quarantee that without this, things will be forgotten by me you and everyone else ;)
What Pangolin Games brings to the table
We'll use Roll20. This is something I do for fun, hence some parts will be quite ad hoc in terms of me setting up a space for combat in the spur of the moment (as I didn't see the fight coming). Roll20 will generally be used only when needed and otherwise we'll use the "theatre of the mind" as well as some AI generated images to occasionally set the scene. My personal DM style. I don't have an art background, so my voice acting skills range from bad fake scottish accent to just my regular accent. I rarely use ambient music etc, as I find it more distracting than mood setting. Players' are engouraged to try anything. Embrace death if it should come their way and just most importantly of all, have fun.

How Pangolin Games creates a safe table
Session 0 we will introduce ourselves, the world, characters as well as the players. We will discuss how the story starts and set some clear story hooks to get the campaign going. Generally we wont have to have our camera feed on, but for session 0 its nice for everyone to see eachother face to face. After this video feed is completely optional. X N O cards will be used via discord's private messaging.
