About the adventure
Welcome to the magical campus of Strixhaven where students immerse themselves in their arcane studies while participating in adventures and social activities on campus. Strixhaven is the premier university for academics, adventurers, mages, wizards, and more. With five colleges offering a wide range of magical knowledge, students are sure to become the most prominent spell casters in the world. In this wild world of academic magic, anything is a possibility! This campaign begins with players' first day on campus (level 1) and sees them through to graduation (level 10). This includes the standard adventure from Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos plus additional adventures and content I have added to enrich the fantasy of attending a magical school. Expect a mixture of academic activities, campus shenanigans, social life, and, of course, magical adventures. But this is not just an academic adventure.. I have added an entire academic life simulation to enrich the overall experience. Think Fire Emblem or Persona. You will balance your time between attending classes, engaging in both academic and social activities, joining clubs, having jobs, and more. With time passing in weekly increments and each player is given a pool of activity points they can spend to determine how they pursue their academic life. It will be a bit different than your standard D&D game but should really deliver the magical school fantasy. And, seeing how this is a magical school, I will also include some homebrew content to help bring the fantasy of learning to life! This module, along with my included content, is role-play heavy. There is a full roster of faculty and students players get to interact with and even rules for building relationships. If you are looking for a game about diving into dungeons and slaying dragons, this is not the campaign for you. That said, I run some great combats when they occur. This campaign is a great fit for: - Players looking for a more social role-play experience - Players who like to immerse themselves in a fantasy, particularly a magical school fantasy like Harry Potter, Little Witch Academia, Wednesday, etc. - Players who like playing as spell casters, especially those who are less familiar with spellcasting but want to give it a try - Players who are chill and don't mind a slower-paced session This campaign is NOT suited for: - Munchkins/power gamers: Even with me spicing things up, this campaign is too easy as is. Plus I don't allow the typical tools of the power gamer trade. - Edgelords: This is a university setting but it feels more like elementary school. I did fix this a bit, but it's hard to be edgy when you are stacking critters. - Murder hobos: The school has safeguards to keep people from dying and trying to kill someone will get you expelled. - Harry Potter/MtG lovers: I don't really know or like these worlds too much. Sorry!

About me
I am a world-traveling, creative storytelling, rogue/wizard multiclassing, game designing, weirdo who just so happens to enjoy TTRPGs. I love creating complex and rich worlds while working out meticulous designs to captivate and engage my players. I work professionally as a game designer or lecturer and I like to flex my design muscles within the fantasy worlds that I run. I recently decided to begin hosting games online to practice my design skills while bringing in a bit of side money. I am hoping to create some great experiences for my players and myself in the process!

Creating your character
Players will start at level 1 and MUST select a class with some access to magic (or at least one with a feat that gives them magic access). Your character was admitted to a school for magic and most of the game revolves around learning magic, play the part. I do not allow feats or multi-classing (at least not without special rules). This world is very flexible and I will allow a lot of creation options, including homebrew, within reason. That said. Do NOT start character creation yet! We will cover details about character creation, expectations, and rules in session 0. At the end of the session, you can work on creating your characters along with the other players. I also have some homebrew content, such as backgrounds, to share that is made specifically for this campaign You are free to ping me questions about your character at any time. The one thing I do ask is for all players who sign up for this game is to pick a character role upon registering. Think classic school tropes like class clown, troublemaker, ice queen, rebel, slacker, bookworm, etc. This role is designed to determine the role-play position you have in the party and ensures that each player has a specific role-play agenda (and hopefully ensures players do not step on each other's toes with their characters). I will send you a message when you join with a full list to choose from (no two players can have the same role, first come, first served)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- Requirements: You must have a working mic and a decent internet connection. Ideally a PC for running discord & foundry. A webcam is encouraged for out-of-game social time. - Pre-game Prep: Be sure to have a role picked prior to the start of the campaign. If possible, try to have a quick chat with me before session 0 to make sure this is the right campaign fit and to answer any questions/concerns you may have about joining the campaign.
What K★ brings to the table
Access to a Foundry server for play that includes a ton of neat tools for players to engage with the game and track their progress. For communication, we will use Discord and I do like players to turn their cameras on for out-of-game chatting. I prefer theater-of-the-mind (with some included visual scenes) for exploration and social encounters with battle maps for combat encounters. I try my best to set the mood with visual descriptions, background music, and other effects. I am not the best with voices though. NOTE: I am new to running games online, so please have a bit of patience as I figure out the ins and outs of the tools. (This is why I am running this game at a discounted price ;P) I am also a professional game designer who loves to craft homebrew content and improve rules to better fit the campaign. Expect D&D, but with some major twists. If you are a more experienced player, you are welcome to make use of my homebrew classes or sub-classes. If you are a less experienced player, I have also worked as a lecturer and am good at being patient and helping to learn the rules (this will be a great campaign to join if you want to learn more about playing a spellcaster).

How K★ creates a safe table
The first meeting of the campaign is a session 0 (FREE!) where we will go over character creation, game details, safety measures, tool use, and more. Between each academic year, we will have a re-session 0/intermission session. I have a zero-tolerance policy in regards to abuse, racism, sexism, and other toxic behaviors. Any problematic traits your character may have MUST be vetted by myself and approved by ALL other players.
