About the adventure
This is a fast paced action packed D&D one shot for those looking for a goofy and intense adventure. 'Hope From Hell' throws players into a demon incursion in Icewind Dale as devils from the nine hells, vying to have their souls promoted by defeating demons. Each devil (player) puppets random residents of the town (randomly-rolled characters) as best they can in an attempt to foil the chaos of the abyss and seal the breach. Be a devil, save the world from demons, earn that promotion and enjoy your time back among the living for as long as it will last...

About me
Hi I'm William! I am many things, but most simply I am a giant, optimist, nerd, and lover of stories. I love the way tabletop games are such a unique opportunity for creative storytelling. My goal is to create a fleshed out world that players can fully interact with, and the space to embody and evolve their characters. Pulling from a strong improv and theater background, I try and fill the world we play in with life, for anything from a goofy romp to a dark epic. Flexibility, empathy, and creativity are my driving forces and I hope we can tell awesome stories together. I am excited to hear your ideas and would love to try to make your perfect game, so feel free to message me if you have a custom game you would like me to run.

Creating your character
We will create every character at the start of the game and they may or may not survive until the end. This process will be fast and utilize D&D Beyonds random Character creator option so if your first body perishes you can quickly inhabit another. The first session is the whole adventure and either the party will protect Icewind Dale from this demon incursion or fail and the devils they play will be punished or rewarded accordingly.
Try out the Hope From Hell one shot format I built! No long term commitment and tons of chaotic fun!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a working microphone, D&D beyond account, Discord account and the idea for the kind of devil you are at the core, what drives you to try and get promoted. Think more bureaucrat then evil overlord.
What William brings to the table
One Big Map of Bremen, built Battle Maps as they are needed, D&D Beyond content to build characters with and tons of world building to tie it all together. I am flexible and happy to adapt the game to the players, the rule of cool is in full effect and I encourage out of the box thinking. The rules are there to encourage fairness and a grounded world and that is what I lean on them for - beyond that the world is ours to craft together.

How William creates a safe table
Before we start we will go over expectations and limits. This is a fast pace adventure where all players are Devils possessing random people. If playing as a random character controlled by an agent of the Nine Hells in the infinite war against the abyss sounds a bit much, it definitely is. Beyond that premise this is meant to be a romp where character death is a minor setback and any solution to the problem is viable with cartoonish violence that makes it more goof than horror. All that said I am always happy to get feedback on players comfort levels and I want to make the most inclusive game possible so we will have a good session 0 style discussion before the adventure begins. Also I will always respect any messages for pause breaks or skips given to me by players. Lastly we will fully debrief after the game ends for feedback and to talk through anything we need to.
