About the adventure

The continent of Avreth knows tenuous peace for the first time in centuries. The Ardenian Empire, weakened and borders shrunken by war, remains mighty. The Hindra Alliance, free at last, forges a more hopeful future for its people. The cities of the Nadyr Coast cower in their independence, fearful of retribution. With war merely a recent memory, a new danger arises that threatens not only Avreth, but all of existence. As the fanatical cult of a mysterious, otherworldly entity works to end everything, new heroes must rise to face the coming storm! ♦️ Level 3-12 epic heroic fantasy adventure ♦️ Homebrew world w/ some deities from Forgotten Realms ♦️ Experience an epic journey across the continent of Avreth and the many planes of existence ♦️ Characters and their backstories matter and shape the world ♦️ Tons of engaging NPCs ranging from totally silly to truly evil ♦️ This adventure can be dark and heavy, but there will be plenty of time for fun and shenanigans

About me

Hello, adventurers! My name is Cody and I love telling a good story with good friends. I came into the TTRPG world fairly recently, but playing and DMing Dungeons and Dragons has quickly become a passion. Players at my table can expect a character-driven, roleplay-heavy, narrative-focused campaign set in my own homebrew world. If you are looking to develop an unhealthy attachment to imaginary characters in an imaginary world, I have a good feeling you'll be a perfect fit!

Character creation

Creating your character

The basics: - DnDBeyond for character sheets - Characters start at level 3 - Point buy for ability scores - All sourcebooks are fair game, but we'll need to work together to make some of the non-PHB species fit into the world - Free uncommon magic item or feat at character creation Before session 0, I will work with each player individually to flesh out their character concepts and fit them into the world at large. Everyone will bring their mostly game-ready characters to session 0. I am always open to wacky and fun character concepts, but I'd rather you not enter the game thinking of your character as a joke.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

What you will need: - Microphone - Webcam heavily preferred, but not required - Discord account - DnDBeyond account - AboveVTT Chrome/Firefox extension - Willingness to engage in the world!

What Cody brings to the table

How sessions will run: - Discord for voice and video (cameras on preferred) - AboveVTT for battle maps, world maps, and photos - DnDBeyond for character sheets (I own most sourcebooks) - Kenku FM for ambient/battle music through Discord - Sessions are recorded and uploaded to YouTube (unlisted for everyone's privacy - DM-written session recaps How sessions will play: - Lots of roleplay - Narrative-driven combat; I won't throw combat at you just for the sake of combat - Homebrew world with tons of lore for you to discover - Mysteries to solve and a world to save

Safety

How Cody creates a safe table

I will discuss safety tools individually with each player and then we will discuss them as a group during session 0. It is important for me that everyone has a chance at the beginning (and end if time permits) of sessions to address any concerns. I am also typically available for messaging most days outside of sessions to address any issues a player may be having that they do not wish to share with the group.
