Operation Red Dawn
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Operation Red Dawn is a 5e conversion of the Second-Strike Ghost Ops system along with a lot of homebrews from yours truly. Set in an alternative timeline the US and USSR are once again at odds in 2027 and the previously cold war has now become hot. The year is 2027 and the third world war has started. The mainland United States and Canada have been invaded on all fronts. In the west, China uses a series of tactical air strikes and naval bombardments to begin an invasion of California, to neuter US naval and marine assets, and British Columbia, in hopes of finding an easier route through the almost impassible Rocky Mountains. In the east, the People's Republic of Western Europe consisted of communist puppet governments in France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Southern England, and Western Germany, has used its vast navies and economic power to strike and disable all government assets in the east with New York being flattened by thousands of shells and air strikes daily at the start of the war. All nuclear arsenals have been rendered useless due to Operation Fighting Chance which was led by a joint task force of the remaining 22nd SAS Regiment, Remaining US Green Berets, and other NATO Operators who took an experimental device that released a set of top-secret nano drones that disabled every operational nuclear warhead in the world giving the US and remaining NATO allies a chance to fight back. You are currently in Fastville, Vermont. Whether you live there or you come from somewhere else on December 20th, 2027, you and whoever you were with saw the bombs and parachutes of hostile forces. Whether equipped for the situation or not you have found yourself in the middle of an occupation how will you respond?

I'm a longtime GM myself and he has the Passion for this, no matter the system. Not sure a D100 system is for me but it was a fun time and he is quite attentive to the players, great RP and pretty quick with replies to questions and can really get into NPC's heads on the fly. I highly recommend giving him and this system a try, it might just work for you :) Tom
I've used Dennis as a DM for years. He always goes above an beyond with his world building. Player creativity is highly encouraged especially when it comes to character creation. Dennis also doesn't shy away from helping players build cool characters and creates stories to tie in their PCs. Any campaign he runs tends to role play heavy but with a very very healthy dose of combat. can recommend him enough!
Additional details
How to prepare
Players will need to read the resources I give them in order to ensure that they will have a full understanding of the setting and what is going on. A microphone is required as we will use discord to communicate in and out of sessions.
What I provide
I will provide the maps and necessary lore information to create an in-depth character. Here is the link to the discord https://discord.gg/9YKwACZhDn I will provide everything needed. Remember the Rule of Cool Rules!
Gameplay details
Players can expect high-drama roleplay tailored to their personalities and character backgrounds. Session zero will be more so done to tie in all the characters and have them meet. During that time we will also go over what everyone is and are not comfortable with. The combat will be fast-paced and tactical with modern equipment and some low sci-fi elements.
