About the adventure

I have a book I have been writing and have a wonderful more isolated map similar to a mix of Skyrim, LOTR, Assassins Creed, Narnia, etc. Very fantastical. After meeting fellow players and their characters in game, you will start in a semi-average group of adventures. On your journey to learn more about yourselves, each other, AND more of the world you work on "saving" the land you call home. Are you the good or bad guys? I guess we'll have to find out. Adventure is calling, skills need building, not everyone in armor is a knight.

About me

Hello one and all! Welcome! I have been a Game Master since I was shown ttrpgs. What I've been told sets me apart as a GM is my balance between creativity, planning, and in-game "improv" or alternate storytelling. I love mixing up genres, providing a spin to what people regularly expect, and making sure each player/character gets a moment to shine. If you or others you know would like to try an rpg I have not listed, experienced as a player, or have GMed before, please still reach out! I would like to hear what you're interested in and would enjoy expanding my repertoire!

Character creation

Creating your character

I will gladly message about this if you are interested for more information. Normally there is a session zero but sometimes I will do personal calls or messages to clarify anything to make sure we are both confident going into a new campaign. If you need any other information feel free to check on the DriveThruRPG website under DragonBane to look for the book, pdfs, or otherwise. My PM's are always open.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

-Discord with audio capabilities (text/type per request or for messaging) -Internet -Document access (Word, Google, Adobe, etc.) -Extra things as needed provided by me

What ripp brings to the table

I will be creating a map of the land (like you would see inside book covers) and provide it for everyone. I will also be sending players the pdfs necessary for the character sheets with anything else needed to fully participate. I have not figured out a good way to use music playlists yet but I am working on it so it may be ready when this group comes to fruition. However, I use a lot of descriptors for settings, voices or NPCs, and am proud of the other flavors I put together. Combat is fairly relaxed because I truly want each player to feel cool and provide a chance to explore your own character capabilities. Otherwise the game is played fairly close to design from the original system creation.

Homebrew rules

With the Dungeon World system specifically I tend to stick to the rules as well as I can but I do warp combat. Instead of specific give and take (such as player rolls determining the opposing forces moves), I will sometimes make rolls for my baddies. Players can do things to change or influence as one would tend to react in a fight. If a weakness is triggered in said baddie, they will act out in response. i have noticed it makes for a better scene, role play, use of character feats/traits/skills, and overall makes everyone feel more accomplished.

How ripp creates a safe table

My safety tools are more tailored per person and per group but I will always ask blanket questions to get to know the surface No/Don't vs Maybe vs Go For It/Consent. I make sure to always check-in at the end of sessions but will often check to make sure people are okay during breaks.
