Creating your character

🔹 Character creation details can be discussed and changed! This is YOUR game after all. This is just a basis on what I typically allow. 🔹 I will be using Discord to help walk you through the character creation process, but please don't hesitate to ask if you need any help or have any questions. This game is open to new players, and I am happy to answer any questions and provide guidance. I also allow homebrew (custom content) and third-party content, with the disclaimer that if something is too powerful, we may need to adjust it to maintain fairness between players. I am willing to work with players to help them create the characters they want, including custom races or other special abilities. Here are some additional details about character creation: ✅ We will be using a Homebrew Ruleset called Dungeons and Devil Fruits 5e with a hint of One Piece 5e. We will discuss more once you sign up. ✅ Level 1 start, with the option to Gestalt. ✅ Free feats from Level 1 via Role + Background. ✅ Heroic Array: 18, 17, 16, 15, 13, 11 ✅ Maximum HP ✅ Start with an optional Devil Fruit or Magic Item or two! ✅ Starting Gear ✅ Be thinking about backstory and what kind of race and faction you want to choose between being a Pirate, a Marine, or a Revolutionary, and what kind of person you want to be. Think about which of The Four Blues you wish to start in as well!

Preparing for the session

This is an asynchronous play-by-post game played by Discord with the Avrae bot. This means that posts will be made throughout the week; it's to the pace of the group. All playing will be done by text, making things accessible for those who aren't able to use voice. I will update at least daily. You will get to experience the story and the roleplay, while also learning about--or getting more experience with--play-by-post format and Avrae. ✅ Download Discord: https://discord.com/ Once you sign up, message me on Discord. The game itself will start once everyone is ready (you will not be charged until we begin). =============== PLOT: Expanded - Wealth, Fame, Power! Gol D. Roger, The King of The Pirates, obtained this and everything else the world had to offer, and his dying words drove countless souls to the seas! ”You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place, now you just have to find it!” These words drew men to the Grand Line in pursuit of dreams greater than they dared to imagine. This is the time known as the Great Pirate Era! The story begins deep into The Great Pirate Era, three or so years prior to the beginning of Monkey D. Luffy's canon journey in The East Blue. But in this story, Monkey D. Luffy is nowhere to be seen in The East Blue, this leads to many rippling effects on the story and leaves an opportunity for a new person to rise to the occassion. And this is where you come in! You choose your own destiny, whether it is to be a Pirate, a Marine, or a Revolutionary, the story is yours for the taking! Good? Evil? Feel free to choose whatever you wish, but let me know these things as well as whether you wish to start in The East Blue, or a different Blue instead! Many changes will be altered in our unique setting so be prepared for some interesting surprises along the way.

Ben, your GM, provides an incredible experience, with the help of various tools from 10+ years of experience with text roleplay. His games include: 🔹 Working one-on-one with you to weave your character backstory in and make this a unique experience. 🔹 Adding his own twist to the story and accounting for character actions and interactions. This is not a static world, and the echoes of the party's choices will be seen. 🔹 Giving characters boons and magic items and scaling up monsters to make combat engaging and challenging. Monsters will not hold back, but the DM will root for your success. 🔹 Creating NPCs with motivations and personalities, who may help or hinder the player characters. Maintain friendships, rivalries, make enemies or even potentially lovers (with consent). 🔹 Customized heroic rivals that will try to oppose the party at every turn. 🔹 Custom (homebrew) content and systems for One Piece from the DM and third-parties. 🔹 Pre-generated characters or concepts, in case you do not wish to create your own.
