About the adventure
500 years ago on Earth-that-Was, the Technocratic Conventions won so completely that the colonists who left a ruined planet for new solar systems didn't even remember the old stories of magic, fairies, werewolves, vampires, or spirits, let alone believe in 'em. But now, the Technocratic power of the Alliance begins to weaken. Supernaturals awaken into a 'Verse that's forgotten even the stories of them and means to kill 'em real dead. Thrown together by circumstance and pursued by the gorram Alliance, this mixed party of Mages, Werewolves, Fera, and Changelings struggle to find their place and re-discover their heritage. The question now before them: do they re-ignite the Browncoat Rebellion and try to break the conformist power of the Alliance, or do they simply find their own quiet corner of the 'Verse and create what beauty they can? ***** This game is set in the Firefly universe. It is also set in the Old World of Darkness universe, advanced 500 years. If you love Firefly, space westerns, or gritty, urban-sci-fi-fantasy type subtle magic, this is the game for you! About me
I tripped and fell over GMing when I ran a "3-month" 7th Sea campaign at the end of college that is still going today, 16 years later. I've run several other campaigns and a whole ton of convention one-shots, including games at the convention I helped run for a number of years. I'm a professional GM because gaming is the most fun thing I can imagine doing for money! and because I want to share my skills with more people. Collaborative storytelling is a powerful way to enjoy life and transform ourselves, and I think everyone should do it. One of my favorite things is introducing new players to role-playing, so reach out if you're a newbie in need of mentoring! Especially because my games often run toward more intense themes, making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and feeling safe is a huge priority. At my tables we talk about triggers ahead of time and work through interpersonal conflict as often as we can. That said, people just interested in spreading hurtful stereotypes are not welcome to stay. LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent GM welcoming all your identities, especially the marginalized ones. Outside of gaming, I'm a Pagan spiritual leader, singer, parent of 4, and avid gardener. What amazing stories will we tell together?

Creating your character
When you join this in-progress campaign, I'll help you catch up on the lore, get a feel for the other characters, and design a character you absolutely love at your individual, paid Session 0. (For those more experienced with Old World of Darkness 20th Anniverary Edition, the PC options include: - Tradition(less) Mages, Technomages, or Marauders - Garou, Coraxes, Bastet, or Mokole - Changelings)
Hello! We are a welcoming table of friendly international people who had one member leave. Currently, the party is: -Skald, a Viking-descended pilot and Spirit Mage -Quinn, the Luckiest Man Alive, a Marauder -Nobody, an unwise but gifted Kinfolk Mage -Leto, a wolf-born Werewolf Ahroun -Sarros, a former Browncoat gunhand turned Mind Mage
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before session, have a webcam and mic, and plan to have your camera on most of the time. It helps me run a better game for you when I can see faces and read non-verbal cues! It also helps us all become friends. You'll also want to bring 15-ish 10-sided dice or your favorite online dice roller.
What Connor brings to the table
This game uses custom maps and tokens on Owlbear Rodeo, a custom soundtrack on Spotify (give it a listen here! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7BnXNeJpfCshKI4wmkcteV?si=ldmDYXdGT-enMlGT0kjfBg), and a lot of between-game and during-game coordination through Discord. I use a range of character voices and often include costuming, character or setting visuals, and background mood music (which can be muted). I love your creativity! Come full of ideas and we will "Yes and" them as often as we can! Though we're using the crunchy Old World of Darkness system, I am a Rule of Cool GM who will wave aside the rules if they're interfering with telling the story.

Safety
How Connor creates a safe table
An average session tends to feature time for roleplay among the party, some kind of threat or situation the party needs to deal with (which may or may not include combat), and investigating secrets of the 'Verse through interactions with the rich and co-created setting. It is so important to me that you have an excellent, safe, and fun experience. If you spot anything on the list of triggers below that is difficult for you, feel free to reach out and discuss if it can be veiled (not discussed in depth) or otherwise adapted for your safety.
