About the adventure

Let's do this. You are a person skilled in violence of some kind, be it with weaponry, magic, skullduggery, or pleas to particularly bloody-minded gods. Your job? Seek fortune and glory atop a mound of the corpses of your enemies. The world is your oyster, you just need the might to shuck it. A roleplay-heavy experience for gamers of all stripes willing to step into the role of an old-school adventurer. Explore the world with a bloody-minded attitude. Meet strange and unusual species and figure out the best way to kill them, then take their stuff. Wonder at a world where heavily armed people wander about with little to no supervision. Set in the Known World, circa the Gazetteer era, this game is total sandbox play, including access to all the class options from Rules Cyclopedia-era Mystara! Play a pixie, a sphinx, or a troll! Suitable for gamers of all experience levels, newbies and veterans alike are welcome!

About me

Howdy! My games tend towards the sandbox, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law and all that. I'm a big believer in the power of narrative. The best stories are always about ideas more than plots. That's not to say that it's all arthouse allegory, but the plot should be about more than a list of bad guys to thwart and loot to steal. (Except, of course, when that's the story being told. Context is king.) If you show up for my games expect a certain amount of history, satire, and the odd pop culture reference in the mix. I tend towards horror and comedy, as I find they complement each other well, but again, depends on the game. I also offer personalized one-shots for players that miss a game- you aren't on auto-follow, you're off doing things. Need to miss a game? Don't worry, I got you. (DISCLAIMER: In D&D based games, this may involve trips to Ravenloft, play at your own risk. Scheduling difficulties may interfere with this offer, but my schedule is pretty flexible.) Bigtime into Butlerian theology- "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind." No AI-generated anything 'round these parts. Years of Blood Bowl have turned me against elfs. Play at your own risk. You can call me "Jeremy" if you really need to.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation in the classic sense. No prep necessary- you find out who your PC is at the roll of the dice! Forget what you think you know- an Int 6 wizard is fine, just not so good with the multilingualism!

The current party

Every other Tuesday night at 8 PM Mountain Time.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Webcam preferred but not needed, mic necessary. Also a free account on the Forge so you can log in. It works through your web browser, so there's no additional software necessary!

What Diamond J brings to the table

Discord will be used for voice chat, and Foundry VTT for tokens and managing character sheets, but nothing else if you don't want. Roll real dice in the comfort of your home and tell me what came up. I trust you.

Homebrew rules

There might be one or two, but nothing major, every variation gets group approval before implementation.
