Embark on a high-seas adventure like never before in this thrilling Dungeons and Dragons pirate campaign! Welcome to the mysterious and enchanted islands that countless territories sent crews to explore, only to discover the remnants of ancient civilizations. As a daring group of adventurers, you'll uncover the secrets of these mystically infused lands, where magic and mystery intertwine the past and the present. Set sail with your crew, navigating treacherous waters, and facing off against formidable foes that guard the secrets of the vanished inhabitants. The once thriving civilization, now long gone, leaves behind clues that beg to be unraveled. Who were these enigmatic people? Where did they disappear to? What arcane forces linger in the air, shrouding the islands in an aura of magic? Prepare to delve into the unknown as you navigate through hidden coves, forgotten temples, and uncharted territories, all while grappling with the unpredictable twists of the high seas. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or new to the world of Dungeons and Dragons, this pirate campaign promises an immersive experience filled with mystery, danger, and discovery. Unearth ancient artifacts, forge alliances with eccentric characters, and face the challenges of the open sea. Are you ready to chart your own course and unveil the secrets that lie beneath the waves? The adventure awaits! This game welcomes new players and experienced players. Everyone of all skill levels will find themselves challenged and rewarded for their efforts. Who doesn't love a good pirate story? We will be starting at level 5. If you are a newer player, I can help you get started! Just let me know what you need, but know that this adventure is geared toward players with some experience. Some rules are as follows: 1. Be kind to each other as players. 2. No fighting/stealing from party members 3. Players will level up together based on the milestone system. No need to track xp. As long as a player attends most sessions, everyone will level up at the same time even if they've missed a few sessions. 4. I plan on players using DNDBeyond and Beyond20 extension. These tools are powerful and make playing fast and easy. DNDBeyond has options to allow me to share my purchases with players to give you more options. 5. There will be a dedicated discord server for this game. This keeps discussions organized into channels so that important things don't get buried. This game will be scheduled to run bi-weekly.

About me

Hello! As you can tell by the number of games I have hosted, that I am not new to GMing and in fact have been doing it for 6 years now. Being a GM is an awesome experience where I get to shape a narrative with a group of people in a fun and exciting way. For me personally, creating a welcoming environment for new players and veterans alike, where they start as strangers, and then enjoy each other's company while telling a story together, is unmatched.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters should be created on Dndbeyond (or roll20 using the same guidelines). I will have content sharing enabled, so you will have lots of options. Use the campaign link and create your character there or join with one you've already made. Characters should be level 5 and built using standard array or point buy for ability scores. HP should use the default setting of "fixed." All official content is ok. This includes UA, CR, and Custom Lineage from TCoE. Unofficial content is ok with DM-Approval. Everyone can starts with all normal starting equipment or gold. Plus 2 "gear tokens". These can be spent in the following ways: 1 gear token - 400gp 1 gear token- uncommon item (magical or nonmagical) or pet/steed within reason 2 gear tokens - rare item (magical or non magical) I can definitely help with character creation for anyone who needs it! Characters level up using the milestone system. Any character that joins the game later will start at whatever level the rest of the party is at. I plan to finalize characters before the start of session 1.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I plan to run this game on Roll20, so players should have an account. We will be using Discord for voice chat so it is required that players have a mic. If players built a character on D&DBeyond, it is highly recommended that they download the Beyond20 extension. Players do not need prior experience or knowledge of the rules, but it is recommended to have some knowledge and experience. -Build character on D&DBeyond -Make account on Roll20 -Install Beyond20 plugin. -Join campaign discord and have working mic

What Franky Von brings to the table

We are playing online, so I will provide digital game components like maps, tokens, etc. If players wish, they can provide an image for me to use for their character portrait and character token. If a player doesn't provide this, I can provide one.

Safety

How Franky Von creates a safe table

We will have a session zero that will go over everyone's expectations and desires for the campaign. We'll touch on what to expect as well as things to avoid. If for any reason a player needs to step away or remove themselves, we will be utilizing the safety measures of Open Door and X, N, & O Cards. Open Door is simply to empower the player to step away and rejoin (or leave if necessary) whenever they need to for any reason, no questions asked. X, N, & O Cards function as an indicators to me (the GM) when subject matter arises which causes discomfort to the point it disrupts your experience, you can utilized X, N, & O in the following ways: X: Place an X in the chat to let me know you are uncomfortable with the current content, often resulting in a change, rewind, or skip of the aforementioned content. N: Placing an N in the chat lets me know that you feel the content is heading towards an X card, often resulting in a change or a “fade to back”. O: An O in the chat is a check-in card, where I will stop and check with the entire group to ensure that everyone is comfortable continuing with the content.
