The world created by Richard truly feels alive - at every corner we the players may decide to split up, follow various leads (or create our own) and yet every NPC we meet is grounded in the world, has a backstory, motivations, a unique personality. And the overarching story is excellent - truly feels like a classic Trek episode, with just the right balance of futuristic technobabble and deep moral conundrums. Always rewards coming up with unique solutions to puzzles and problems - it's extremely satisfying to play up your character's strengths and see new paths opening up in the adventure. After only a few sessions I can say I am really looking forward to my weekly dose of Star Trek Adventures!
I entered into my first Daggerheart game pretty unprepared - new GM, new party, new game system. And yet it felt like playing a game with old friends - everybody pitched in, the GM took his time to explain whatever mechanics I didn't understand, and he created a legitimately fun experience - memorable NPCs, cool moments for every player, and a beginner-friendly story that yet had real stakes.
