About me
I'm Sky - a writer, DM, storyteller, and lifelong lover of worldbuilding, character development and stories of every sort. In life and at the table I am a proud Bard - I love meeting new people and forging friendships, making others laugh, telling tales, sharing inspiration and instigating shenanigans with my personal brand of loveable idiocy. I started playing D&D half a decade ago when I began listening to real-play podcasts (my favorites are The Adventure Zone, Roll20, Not Another D&D Podcast and Critical Role) and realized that Dungeons & Dragons is the perfect cross-roads of many of my greatest strengths and skill sets such as improvisation, performing, creating new worlds, and collaborative storytelling. At the time I did not know of anyone who was running a game that I could join, so I did what any enthusiastic lunatic would do and began running a Level 1 - Level 20 multiverse-spanning campaign for some of my closest friends! Now, over five years later, that campaign is finally nearing its epic conclusion and I am thrilled to share all that I have learned along the way with you and your fellow adventurers! Creating your character
Characters will begin at level one and advance as the campaign continues. Character creation will occur before or during session 0 using the standard array and any official WotC published materials. Players will be able to join a group discord in order to share ideas about classes, race options and team dynamics and optimization. I will help to guide players through character creation as needed as well as assist with level ups throughout the campaign.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be creating characters through Dndbeyond.com and running combat on Roll20.net so you will want to create accounts with both if you don't have one already. Also I recommend downloading the Beyond20 browser extension, which allows you to roll directly from your Dndbeyond character sheet and have the results display for the group on Roll20. You will also need to join our Discord server, which you will be linked to after joining the adventure and will contain links for all the resources mentioned above. Last but not least make sure you have a working mic so we can hear you! (Webcams are optional.)
What Sky the Bard brings to the table
I will be using rich VTT battlemaps, character and monster tokens, Dndbeyond content, custom-made playlists, diverse character voices, moments of dread and delight, challenging roleplay and exhilarating combat to immerse you in the world of Ravenloft!

How Sky the Bard creates a safe table
While this is a horror campaign, we will not be using excessive gore or overly upsetting or uncomfortable content (we're all just trying to have fun, after all). We will use Lines and Veils, X cards, and a short break at the halfway point of each session to maintain comfort, engagement and enjoyment for everyone at the table. Players can expect fast-paced combat, unnerving and frightening scenarios, and the possibility of character deaths balanced with humor, wonder, exploration and levity.
