About the adventure
You didn't ask for it, but you ARE in the middle of it. Listen, nobody asks to be put in your position. Nobody envies it. Nobody wants it. But now that you find yourself in the thick of it, might as well do the best you can, yes? Orderly as Waterdeep looks, its seedy underbelly is way larger and more colorful than most would expect, and that extends to the type of people it attracts - which goes from insane, yet oddly fashionable Drow assassins all the way to abominations with way too many eyes and just as many attitude problems. And the first question you need to answer is, who will you choose? If anyone at all, that is... π° Join in a hunt for a long-lost, fabled treasure π€πΌ Make deals with, or fight against, competing organizations πΊ Run your own tavern - either cleanly, or as a front for more sinister things π΅π½ Infiltrate secret organizations π Face off against criminal bosses - Including Beholder Al-Capone! π Experience a branching storyline where no two campaigns are the same Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is one of the best-known open-world campaigns for Dungeons and Dragons. It takes place entirely within the titular city, where the players must investigate and solve a mystery involving long-lost money in a hidden cache within the city. To reach their goals, adventurers are offered the help of a handful of organization, ranging from the much expected law enforcement agencies all the way down to the very criminals trying to take over the fabled cache. Who will you join forces with, and what will the ultimate fate of the lost money be? This version of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist has been reworked to enrich the roleplaying aspects, strengthen player agency, thicken the plot beyond the original book and, most importantly, offer some actual heists.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Experienced fantasy/comedy writer and GM helping others get into tabletop. My experience as a writer, along with studies on plot and character development and stage experience as an actor and singer, are all put here in service of telling you a story that's memorable and creating a world where you'll be the protagonist. All of my experience and knowledge is at your disposal, and new players will receive guidance not only on how to create characters, but how to better develop them into full, believable people I specialize in bringing out the funny, the quirky, and the odd in campaigns. Reacting to players' actions isn't only a part of the job for me, but my favorite part of it - creating situations and shaping the storyline between the players and the GM is the heart of tabletop roleplaying. If you're laughing or surprised, I've done my work. If you can come out of my table having learned the rules of the game and becoming a fine roleplayer, I've done my work. All my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and my tables are safe spaces where people from all walks of life are welcome.

Creating your character
You can create your own character or use a premade - you can also ask me to roll you a character with your desired class and race and I will. We'll be creating characters during Session 0, and I'll be available for any help. Creativity and inventiveness when creating characters is both appreciated and encouraged - if I can make any arrangements so your character can function as you'd like, I will, even if it means ignoring or rewriting some written rules. Character stat points can be assigned using standard array or point buy. Dice rolling for stats is not allowed. All official content from PHB, Tasha's, and Xanathar's is allowed except for Human-variant and custom race, Gloomstalker subclass, and custom backgrounds (tho small changes to a background are allowed.) If you want to create a new character, having an idea of the archetype you'd like to play is ideal, along with some knowledge of your character's origins and personality. I can help you flesh it out during character development. You can also bring characters created on your own if you wish, but it's not necessary - as I'm here to help guide you both on the technical and the creative aspects of character creation.
Level 5. Running levels 5 to 8. Using 2024 rules. No D&D experience needed. Players with heavy interest in roleplaying preferred. We play two weeks on and take a third one off on average.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Access to Discord and a working microphone is a must. Please make sure your microphone indeed works as needed, since troubleshooting your setup during a session robs the other players from their playtime. You can download discord from https://discord.com/ The campaign will be run through Fantasy Grounds, and we'll be using that software to create and keep track of your characters and their abilities. You can download the demo version of Fantasy Grounds from http://www.fantasygrounds.com/, which will be enough for the campaign - no purchase is necessary.
What Tizzy brings to the table
I'll be bringing my own Discord server with a bot set up for dice rolls. I also own the sourcebooks on both Beyond and Fantasy Grounds, and have the DM and player's guide at hand to help answer any doubts and with character creation.

How Tizzy creates a safe table
I focus on the experience rather than number-crunching and favor creativity over rules. You can expect a fast-paced, relatively rules light but RPG heavy experience from me. I'm high on comedy and funny situations while doing my best to adapt the story so each character gets some level of development and advancement of their backstory and personal goals. All of my campaigns are illustrated - besides having maps when necessary, players are shown reference images of the places they're visiting and people they're meeting as a means to help them get into their characters and the worlds they inhabit. ------------------------- Safety Information ------------------------- An introductory is a relatively safe environment to explore roleplaying, in general. However, all players come from different backgrounds, and what might be easy to deal with for some might be difficult for other, particularly considering the wide array of possible situations, both scripted and not, that can arise during a roleplaying session - and how sometimes these situations can affect us in ways we ourselves might not expect. To handle this, we will host a discussion about lines, veils, and potential triggers during session zero. Just as well, we'll repeat said discussions several times during sessions to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone in the group. To help players deal with potential stress resulting from in-game situations, sessions can be stopped at any moment if a player feels triggered, even if the situation creating it wasn't one discussed before and thus not one of the previously agreed-on lines or veils. It is my duty to offer you the safest experience I can, and I'll hold myself to it.
