About the adventure

Welcome to Baldur’s Gate, a city of ambition and corruption situated at the crossroads of the Sword Coast. You’ve just been recruited into a special operations unit of the Elturguard only to find your home, family, and country destroyed by diabolical forces in a conspiracy of intrigue that sprawls from the shadows of Baldur’s Gate to the front lines of the planes-spanning Blood War! About me

Dungeons and Dragons is such a huge part of my life and since I have been playing the best game ever made, I have had a passion to share it with others. I want players to enjoy a strategic and realistic experience that focuses on having fun and coming to love the world and lore that I have come to love so much.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character Creation can occur either at the table or beforehand. Or a pre-generated character can be used, which the Dungeon Master can provide. For story telling purposes regarding the setting I ask that players limit their Racial choices to either Human, Half-elf, or Elf. The reason for this isn’t to limit the availability to the player but rather to respect the continuity of the story being told. Baldur’s Gate and the neighboring province of Elturgard are primarily or even nearly exclusively human settlements. It is not my intention to limit role playing but instead to enhance it by building immersion within the narrative.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A working microphone and discord access is the minimum requirement. A camera is also great though not required. Access to Tale Spire, available on Steam, is recommended to create a battlefield representative of the strategic and tactical combat I intend to prepare players to engage.

What Freedom Joe brings to the table

I will provide a unique and strategic perspective of combat with the intention to cultivate an environment that is realistic and fun. I want you to feel the coolest and be the best. I have been voice acting and reading the lore of Dungeons and Dragons for many years which will being a comprehensive perspective to the game.

How Freedom Joe creates a safe table

If at any time someone is uncomfortable with the content of this campaign please message me and we can take steps to accommodate players. It should be noted however that Baldur’s Gate Decent to Avernus is a campaign that tasks the players to make the choice to step in to Baator (the 9 levels of Hell) during the Blood War between demons and devils. This setting is a place of untold horror and abuse of morality which will cause the players to think philosophically about many adult themes such as: the death of your entire culture and family, torture, mass execution, damnation, morality, and what precisely does it mean to be good or evil.
